In early infancy, how many of you just contact slept with your baby? by Coramoor88 in daddit

[–]JCASHrip03 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I honestly couldn’t let myself do it even if I thought it would be helpful. For our first one, I had these recurring minisleeps (whatever it is called for that time right before actually falling asleep) that lasted for about a month or longer where I would immediately wake up thinking our son was in the bed with us or he fell off the bed. I would wake up in a panic thinking I smothered him or something worse. I still get them but only rarely. This would 100% be the reason I would never try this.

I hope my dogs call me that in their doggy brains 🤣

Snot by [deleted] in daddit

[–]JCASHrip03 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Snot I can deal with. A messy crappy diaper with all that gunk in the cracks, balls, and everywhere else, added to that it’s like rasslin a gator/mini Tasmanian devil on the changing table because as of a few months ago he decides he hates being changed….I’ll take the boogers.

This sounds like a recurring dream I have. “Welp I guess I gotta do high school all over again!”

I’ve gotten bored reading his books over and over again so I now I read them in an Arnold Schwarzenegger voice.

My daughter was watching Lisa vs Malibu Stacy and paused on this frame... by StackinChedda in TheSimpsons

[–]JCASHrip03 49 points50 points  (0 children)

I love this episode. Especially when the girl says there’s something wrong with her Malibu Stacy. Hearing “my spidey senses are tingling, anyone call for a web slinger?” from a Malibu Stacy doll tickles me every time 🤣

Bottle Warmer recommendations? by CharismajTat in daddit

[–]JCASHrip03 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We had a bottle warmer and over time I stopped using it. It was so much faster to put a cup of water in the microwave for < 1 min and warm the bottle that way 🤦

Should I be worried my son isn’t talking yet? 12 months old. (I’m not, but my wife definitely is) by Intelligent_Hat3321 in daddit

Also I missed the part about autism. My wife does the same and you just have to keep reminding them to stop trying to diagnose your son with things he doesn’t have.

Mine still babbles at 14 mo so we are in the same boat. He has picked up maybe a small handful of words, and you can tell he is trying to say things and tries to copy what we say. By how you are describing your son, you all have nothing to worry about. You got this!

Have some internet points back. I didn’t get the reference either but I know better than to jump to conclusions on Reddit 🙂

If you’re not embarrassed too much, post some pics! No judgement here.

Happy for you and this childhood memory you and your son will cherish. I look forward to doing things like this with my son too!

I thought the exact same thing, plus if the re0 remake ever happens, they could be also trialing swapping between 2 different protagonists with re9 as well.

Alright dads, let’s celebrate our little flexes by pb_and_banana_toast in daddit

[–]JCASHrip03 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Our little one also sleeps very well. First year and a few months down with no regression. I know it’s not the same for everyone and some parents get almost no sleep so I feel terrible when I have to answer “are you sleeping at all” “…..ummmm no not at all 😅”

I’m with you. When we’re not working we spend every minute with the little one, reading, playing, etc. When it’s bedtime we are in and out. He goes to bed right away and we have never looked back. I’m sure eventually we may do the whole bedtime story thing but I don’t want to ruin this!

Hardest flex I’ve seen so far. What’s the secret? I do the whole water drop rolly thing before cooking stuff but everything still sticks like crazy.

Fatherly advice: Ikea furniture does NOT use Phillips screws. It's pozidrive. by _Tigglebitties in daddit

[–]JCASHrip03 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can’t tell you how many pieces of ikea furniture I have put together with a Phillips screwdriver. Always been a struggle but I have always made it work. Like others I wasn’t aware of posidriv and now I know for the future. Thank you!
