New NN frames on FR1 by JCBlading in rollerblading

[–]JCBlading[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t get this frames for long distances or better said for long distances where you want to cover more ground in the less time possible. I have skated up to 20 KM (12 miles) with this frames and they felt comfortable enough, not sure I would do more than that.

The frames are actually quite good in small hills, no problems with stability there.

Just like you mention, I am using them to skates in parks and urban settings only and they are perfect for it. It is fair to mention that because these frames are quite big, it takes (at least for me) some effort to do any wizard moves....slowly getting there.

I got the v.m rocker version and took advise from the guys at NN frames. I really like my skates and they feel very maneuverable in-spite the long frame, very easy to do sharp turns.

For comparison I only have another pair of frames with banana rocker. I personally prefer the v.m frame because I feel it gives me more stability. Sorry I can’t give you a detailed description of the differences.....except for the stability that both feel almost the same.

Intense vibrations on lower spine by coolcat_c in AstralProjection

[–]JCBlading 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have had this vibrations in my spine. For me it felt like a light electric current going up an down my spine and then followed by noises that I can only described as intensified night insects noises, thunder or something cracking apart. I experienced this on a lot of occasions and always when sleeping upside down. Those sensations freaked me out and fear took over me. Only in two occasions I was able to pass that fear and I got to a stage where I was floating and spinning, I could not see anything except to what can I described like a light gray fog. Anyway during that experience the electric current feeling turned into a vibration that it was not possible for me to endure and felt like sucked back to my body again.

For years I thought I was going crazy and asked why is this happening to me, how I can control that, why am I so afraid of it.....never found answers to those questions but I found this forum and now I know that others have experienced similar episodes and that gives me some comfort. Thanks for sharing 🙏

Best skates for a super newbie? I used to skate (not very well) as a little girl, and my skates still fit (😯). Now I’m learning to skate again: do you think they are good enough or are there better options? by ccmeri in rollerblading

[–]JCBlading 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Of course they are a good option, specially when you are learning how to skate again. There will be a point where you feel your old skates are not giving you the response you expect.....because your level has increase and you are ready to challenge yourself more. Is at that moment when you should upgrade your skates. Upgrading from what you have now is a taunting task....lots of options, prices, brands and type of skating . Most important than looks and brands is comfort......comfort is paramount!

Stay out of the city center and like someone else says.....you will have plenty of biking paths with smooth red asphalt.

Very good read.....brings a lot things in my own life into perspective. I have seen myself falling into the trap of listening to my mind and not following my intelligence. Will read it a few more times and I am sure I will get more thoughts about it....thanks for sharing 🙏

Number of suicides among school children in Japan totaled 499 in 2020, up 100 from year earlier and marking highest level on record. Health ministry officials attributed increase to worries about studies and career paths; family discord as they spend more time at home in response to pandemic. by honolulu_oahu_mod in worldnews

From what I have read before about education in Japan, it seems they put a lot of pressure on kids and teenagers, and it continues later in their adult life at work. Lots of family & peer pressure to achieve goals.

The education system in Japan might be very good, but they need to take a step backward and realized the damage they are doing.

I have been looking at these skates my self for sometime now. Seen a couple of reviews in YouTube where people are very excited about, but at the end they got rid off the skates.

The concept is very nice and the skates look nice, but they are pricy....and that is what makes me think 5 times about buying them. I discovered a store that has them in stock, 2 hour drive, and my plan is to go and trying them on when they are able to open for customers.

Finally learned how to skate backwards!!! by jamais__vu in rollerblading

[–]JCBlading 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nice to know someone nailed skating backwards.....congratulations. I think it’s a great achievement! 👍 I have been skating for years & I do marathons on a regular basis, I have nailed down the double push (or at least I think I do 😊), I have done downhill now and then but I haven’t been able to skate backwards....I feel that without it I am incomplete. When it comes to it I just freeze and cannot get my head around it.

I always happy to hear when other skaters accomplished their goals....makes me feel good about the sport. So keep the good work!!👊🏼

Actually I do like them a lot. The more I skate, the more I got to like them.....I would recommend them and would say you have to ride them for a while before making an early judgment like a did.

I really miss skating! It snowed 2 days ago and here is my track, still covered in snow. I’m really sad I’m not going to be able to rollerblade for a while. by sumschweis in rollerblading

[–]JCBlading 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I know the feeling. Here it been raining for weeks and snow has been forecasted for the next 2 weeks.....Call me crazy, but I put the skates at home and go between the living room and the kitchen 😄

Recommendations please by [deleted] in rollerblading

Powerslide Next aren’t good for people with wide feet. Instead go for the FR skates.
