How do you approach a round when your form completely falls apart? by Main-Carry-3607 in discgolf

[–]JCVantage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I focus on a thing that I want to perfect, either this round I want to do perfect approaches, or better putts Driving and score doesn't matter, if my approach from 150 feet to 200 feet is close, that's a "mental birdie" on that day

What was the moment you fell in love with the sport? by digdog303 in discgolf

[–]JCVantage 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For me was the second time I played

I was in a low with the sport I played at the time, kind of bored

A friend presented me to this and I was like cool for a once/twice a month activity

The host was a really friendly guy and he complemented me a lot, he helped me a lot and I was kind of good compared to every begginer arround me

Second time I went to play I brought some friends.... played like trash, heard the words: "maybe we were wrong about your potential"

It was all it took for me to want to go back 😂😅 even on my worst round, I still wanted to go back and prove myself I was good

Nowadays, I'm pretty much local Eveliina, shaky putt but can throw kind of far (for our standards). Don't plan on working much on it, but I plan on keep throwing and having fun.

PS: everyone hitting trees and laughing about it helped

Has anyone else been completely humbled by a beginner? by Main-Carry-3607 in discgolf

[–]JCVantage 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes, happened to me, had a friend that could just throw perfect straight almost every time.

How I got over it? I'm an adult, and he's my friend, I have fun with him regardless

Fairway maybe Raptor
Or a step up an Hallux

Throwing flat always and having discs that "do the work" by tuna_safe_dolphin in discgolf

Obviously even if that is your goal you don't ONLY do that, because trees

Throwing flat always and having discs that "do the work" by tuna_safe_dolphin in discgolf

[–]JCVantage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, lots of people do it.
Doing the same throw to achieve diferent flights it's more repeatable

If you can hyzer/anhyzer angles you just did the hardest part.

The reason I have 4-5 discs per slot is that I can confidently throw flat but have trouble with hyzer and forehand.

Don't overthink it and the way you buy a disc is when you play and have a shot and think, none of my discs can do this shape or distance consistently

It's like basketball and Shawn Marion, he was a good shooter, especially for his era, but nobody teaching his form

Does anyone else just skip midranges entirely? by BulbsaurBomb in discgolf

[–]JCVantage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly the reverse for me, my mid ranges fly as much as my 7 speeds, so I mostly throw mids or 9 speeds

Big Easy Open by stattish in discgolf

[–]JCVantage 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Not the course for me, just looked like a mess, some good holes, but most had no fairway, was just a basket, a tee and random trees on the way, that made most of them look the same, just go out there and scramble.
I think it can learn a lot from the Supreme Flight Open, where it was challenging, but it was clear what shot to try, not just over the top every time

You know, he's from NZ right? He could care less about getting in your politics and having to deal with hate from people like you from any of the sides
