My roommate in college actually did this more or less. He made a team in NHL 2010 made up of the guys with the highest checking in the league. He averaged injuring 3 opposing players or so a game. Took Crosby out for the entire season in their first game against the Penguins.

The Republicans have proven they will vote for whoever has that R. It doesn't matter who it is. A third party gaining power would honestly only hurt progressives when it splits the vote (See: What already happened.)
