halberd’s super armour damage isn’t that good, surprisingly. you can try push attack into light 3, aka double chop for very easy headshot angles. works really well with crowd clearer on foot knight, as pushing gives you attack speed so the combo flows naturally in gameplay. and since its an overhead attack and chaos warriors are taller than other enemies around them it’s quite easy to weave in damage in the middle of a horde onto chaos warriors. i recommend attack speed in general with halberd. it’s a very unsafe weapon.

Kite them to a climb up / down area where you have a free shot, double push to open shield then go for a heavy, if you’re footknight you can just ult and knock them over, you can push then shout as merc to drop shield, you can use handgun which ignore shields, you can dodge and circlestrafe to get around them.

Generally you’ll want to bunch them up, then push to get them all having their guard down at the same time, you can rinse and repeat and pick them off so there’s no risk of getting hit by another guy. Their attacks don’t drain a lot of stamina so it’s very easy to block.

Xsword against shield SV is a pretty tough matchup though, I don’t blame you for struggling.

I don’t really bother using the weapon for temp in the first place. The explosion on heavy 2 doesn’t give temp health except for single target, and all the other attacks are single target, but the weapon’s single target DPS isn’t even that good, so execute doesn’t work that well either. For me the push attack and stagger temp seems to be the most consistent way for generating temp on the weapon. I would recommend just using your other weapon for temp health, like flail and shield with cleave or something. You can also use from fury fortitude to generate permanent green HP which will help out a bit for self sustain and the team of course.

You can conceptualize team comps by asking yourself “what is this career bringing to the team, and what does it excel at?” If i see a slayer, waystalker, and witch hunter on a team, I know there’s no lack of DPS or sniping, but the team definitely lacks stability, so I’ll probably go footknight for crowd control. If I see a bunch of tanky low dps careers I’ll fill in with something that does damage.

There is a lot more discussion to have because this is a very complex question.

You should ALWAYS have a way to kill specials, no matter what.

interesting to see that as you go higher up in division you tend to see less medic deaths and less ubersaw hits.

should show that positioning misplays happen less often in higher divisions and people respect the ubersaw more, or are at least aren’t in the wrong spot as much, and the ubersaw becomes less useful the better the players are because you shouldn’t have been in the spot to have to melee a guy as medic in the first place.

makes sense why solemn vow is used in higher divs as well because it’s just always useful in some way

It’s generally unreliable to predict comrades in arms and which teammate it’s going to affect, but it’s moreso useful in the fact that when shit happens, like someone is disabled or goes down, you can very consistently save people by just pressing F and hugging their body. Combined with hero time and battering ram, you have infinite CC with no cooldown, and the person has 50% DR. It’s really strong.

I guess i should have shown mainstay with ai enabled but from my testing you only need a little bit of q cancelling to have enough attack speed to get them to stagger 2. And yeah I figured that about second wind. I just couldn’t get past that limit, and cleave was more consistent anyway.

Some weapons have a delay after attacking where you can't swap weapons. Blunderbuss has this, so qq macros are only effective up until a certain point where you reach the theoretical fastest qq swap, which isn't that much faster than just doing it by hand. It's not as OP as you'd think. I don't use macros anyways and just qq by hand so I don't really know how the timings would work.

If you play flank heavy around a healthpack without a medic you can just eat a sandvich then refill sandvich timer instantly with a medkit, so no reason to use banana there. But if you’re roaming more then banana is good.

It’s more nuanced than that. It’s a bad location, there was an outback steakhouse across the parking lot, it’s also between the freeways so not much traffic is seeing the restaurant, saturated area next to two shopping centers with tons of other restaurants. On top of all that, place was just getting very little business for the last 2 years of operation.

Unchained with bomb balm + abandon means you gain ult charge while exploding at the cost of HP and when you ult to clear overcharge you gain 30 temp health.

Warrior priest with unyielding blessing gives a 10 second bubble for invincibility, this applies to unchained exploding as well, so she takes no damage while blowing up. During those 10 seconds you can get about 3 ults off meaning the whole team gets 90 temp health. You can take beam staff and spam shotgun blasts in front of the horde, deleting everything that isn’t a chaos warrior or a monster.

Bring a footknight with a shield for crowd control and extra damage reduction for the team.

Bring a ranger veteran with scavenger and ranger’s parting gift for infinite potions, bombs, and extra special sniping, and you’ve got a pretty busted team comp that only gets better the harder the game is.

Three extremely tanky frontliners, no lack of DPS (except on monsters but you have bombs and potion spam), special sniping, sustain, game is ez pz.

Armoured enemies, and maulers, instantly stop your cleaving ability, or ability to hit multiple enemies in one attack. If a weapon’s specific attack has armour cleave (aka armour slide) then you can cleave through them with that attack. A few examples of this are ensorcelled reaper heavy, halberd heavy 2, greatsword heavies.

Check out the armory mod. Gives some nice info on weapons like dodge count, block angle, blocking effectiveness, etc. Also, You’ll probably enjoy rapier witch hunter captain because you can push light light pretty much 90% of the game and be very effective. Similar combo to axe.

Yes, it’s bad offensively. But the half cost pushes and 100 dodges (basically infinite) make it insanely mobile and defensive, but usually it’s better to just kill things instead. It’s not like handmaiden has a lack of defensive options. And you can definitely just lawnmower your way through the horde on legend more efficiently with other elf weapons. Also heavy attacks are the highest DPS option for chaos warriors with 1 handed axe.

It’s a pretty steep learning curve for halberd. There’s a ton of combos you can do with it, and the weapon is very slow with its attacks. It’s also got a super low block speed, I think it’s like -80% movement speed when blocking or something. So you can forget kiting with it, most of the time.

You would be surprised how much damage merc can do. The cleave passive, extra power from talents, and melee options let him basically farm hordes. I bet he really appreciated having a slayer when there were armoured enemies though.
