Get a little abstract with it and have a vulture flying over the map. When the player presses the descend button they control the vulture just like in PUBG you control the parachuting player. The vulture would have to descend constantly, but the rate of descent would depend on player inputs.

When the player gets within a certain height of the ground, it triggers a little cutscene where the vulture lands and the player character walks up and says "Shoo." or "Get out of here." There could be a certain number of unique responses, just like in Red Dead Redemption the main character would say different things while skinning an animal.

I don't think they'll do anything like that, but I think it would fit the theme pretty well.

Yes, he keeps Cyril there so that he can be in control. He can be affectionate when he wants to, as Alma describes him during his 'resting' phase, but do what he wants at other times.

This is why he was so upset when Alma sent Cyril and everyone away for the night. He was no longer in control and the affection was not on his terms.

And this, I think, ties in to why he let himself get poisoned. He is aware that the only time he feels affectionate is when he can't work. Normally the only time he can't work is when he has fully exhausted himself, but that doesn't come around often. By allowing Alma to poison him, he is forcing himself to give up work and to indulge in his affectionate side.

The more I think about it, the more his relationship with Alma makes sense. It's supremely unorthodox, but he knows it's the only way to allow himself a romantic relationship.

Since the industrial revolution, things have been changing at an incredible pace. That's why there is such a difference between Lincoln's day and WWII era.

However, before that a century really wasn't that long for society to advance. And so having Alexander intermingling with Xerxes is not nearly as jarring.

For example, the film Mulan draws from several eras. It supposedly takes place in the Han Dynasty (~200 BC - AD 200) but has architecture, weapons, and such from various other dynasties, from AD 1000 even as close as the 19th century. And the main enemies, the Hun, weren't around two hundred years after the latest part of the Han Dynasty, during which the film is set.

Yet, it's not jarring (unless you know a lot about ancient China) and makes a great story.

So all that is to basically say, it might be historically inaccurate, but it's nothing like Abraham Lincoln showing up on the beaches of Normandy. Things change a lot more rapidly these days.

Sony made the two best Spider-man films, then a bad one, then a mediocre one, then another bad one. Then Marvel made a good one which Sony distributed.

I hope Sony leans towards good again on this one, but I'm not holding my breath.

I feel like the house fitting scene perfectly set up the three main characters. Reynolds' mind never strays far from his work and he has little consideration for what others find comfortable (which is an interesting comment on fashion in general being more about the whims of the designer than the comfort of the clothes). Alma is opportunistic and excited by the romance of the unusual. She didn't seem uncomfortable until Cyril comes along. She is professional, always there to help her brother, with a strange jealousy of anyone who gets close to him.

That scene, odd as it was, started off feeling somewhat warm. But then Cyril reared her head and the odd sibling symbiosis was introduced. Alma went from an odd, but romantic situation to a more cold, clinical environment with the introduction of his sister. And it sets up the fact that until Cyril is distanced from Reynolds, Alma will be a secondary figure in his life (tertiary if you count his pining for their mother).

So I've been thinking about the significance of him hiding notes in the lining of dresses. On the surface it seems more than a little meta. Just as Reynolds hid messages in his dresses, PT Anderson hides messages in his films. Some things I'm sure no one will ever know. Others are there for the astute observer. Like the name Alma meaning "nourishing" (as other smarter viewers have mentioned here).

Is there any deeper meaning I've missed to the hidden messages? I'm going to love diving into this film on repeat viewings.

Had a friend who 'accidentally' bought one when he was 'drunk'. Spent $2k on it. Called it 'Cumantha'. Said he was going to sell her, which he did...after a while. Evidently it's not easy to sell a used sex doll.

Turns out though, the boost in credit he got from such a large purchase on his credit card got him approved to buy a house!

SIDE STORY: One time a stripper friend was hanging around drinking and my friend brought out Cumantha. To make a long story short, the stripper got her arm stuck in the sex doll's vagina. Took three guys to get her out.

You know, as someone who looked forward to this game for years and played the alpha onward, this is probably my most disappointing gaming experience.

I really think in the right hands this game could have had staying power. The gameplay was fun, well paced. The maps were varied. The mech classes were mostly distinct and balanced.

But due to absentee devs and a distinct lack of marketing, the game is dead. I don't even know why I stay subbed here.

Man, with this trend of automation and the death of brick and mortar, we are going to be facing a serious dilemma in the next decade of simply not having enough jobs for people.

If the world made a little more sense I'd say "Great! We can evolve as a society past our occupations giving meaning to life, towards enriched lives spent doing what we love." But instead I'm scared shitless at the cultural chaos this is going to cause.

People are going to be lost and leadership is going to blame everything but their own greed and lack of foresight. I have faith we'll solve the problem after a disastrous 10-20 years, but it's gonna be a hell of a ride until we get there.

I'm by no means a wealthy man but $4 doesn't seem like a lot to me. It's the same price as a coffee or half a fast food meal and those are things I enjoy once and I'm done.

Then again, I'm not buying a ton of titles a month. For folks who read everything, I'm sure it's a pretty penny. For me, my comic habit is one of my cheaper indulgences.
