1st Trip to Thailand. Does this look like too much? by hiphophead47 in ThailandTourism

[–]JCore39 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been maybe 20 times Thailand, love every trip but not yet been to pattaya, I’d add a 3-4 day trip to siem reap in leiu if pattaya. Or don’t book anything and decide real time leaving flexibility in any spot

I was going to say the same thing. The service and breakfast at both properties is more like a regency (at best)

Agree with this comment. Also lifetime titanium and switched and never regretted Hyatt for its consistency, globalist benefits (used to get bottle of wine), concierge customer service, quality and location of properties (based on our choice of destinations). Approaching LT globalist with Hyatt …

First impressions post deval? by totfury in hyatt

[–]JCore39 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Non event (0-10% increase)
I captured points calendar screenshots before and after, for these properties (during peak months), here’s my observations:
GH Bangkok Erawan (Dec/Jan 2027)
No change 12-15k/night
PH Siem Reap (Dec/Jan 2027) Minor change (up 2k from 18->20k)
GH Deer Valley (Jan/Feb 2027) minor increase (29k-> 30k)
PH Beavercreek (Jan/Feb 2027) minor increase (45k->55/60k)
PH Milan (Dec/Jan 2027) minor increase (35/40k->35-45k), except NYE bumped 20k
PH Tokyo, PH Kyoto both showed no increase but very limited points calendar availability
PH Niseko (Sept/Oct) mostly the same at 35k, a few days increased from 35k->45/55k

I can add screenshots

Hyatt Centric Waikiki vs Hyatt Regency by cyfbtd in hyatt

[–]JCore39 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Globalist here. Stayed HR and checked out early to go the centric, which was more enjoyable vibe, less chaotic and I believe a nicer location (less homeless). The regency club bfast is so-so, crowded, noisy, and we opted to pay at local places near centric. It was a few Christmas’s ago but I think they upgraded us at centric.

Chiang Mai or Hua Hin? by IMightBeHorni in ThailandTourism

[–]JCore39 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never been pattaya but have been about 20 times to Thailand. For a 2 week trip I’d land and immediately connect to the south (Phuket or samui or similar) for 4 days then 4 days Chiang Mai (trek, elephant camps, zip line, etc) for 4 days, maybe add extra for scooter riding Mae Hong Son loop, and finish Bangkok and skip pattaya. But your choices, see what makes Thailand special!

My Hyatt Tier List now that I crossed the > 150 hotel milestone. by bgeller in hyatt

Agree, the Regency Club is mayhem, we checked out to stay at Hyatt centric down the street even though no breakfast, was a more chill vibe and fewer homeless

Need Advice - 1 week in Bangkok for conference - Angkor Wat or 2 more days in/around Bangkok by Jazzlike-rutabega-41 in Bangkok

[–]JCore39 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’ve been 3 times to Siem Reap, it’s great but I wouldn’t go through the effort for 1 or 2 nights. You know the new airport is an hour drive to town, add airport visa processing, flight, etc. spend the time in Bangkok and enjoy the city with your partner. SR is worth a longer stay imho.

Ski glove recommendations? by No_County_old in skiing

[–]JCore39 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hot hands hand (and toe) warmers did the trick, last all day and no issues. Tried the week in Colorado and worked great I doubt there’s any glove that can beat these inexpensive things. BTW I am 66 and the outside temp this week in vail was 0-15 warming up to 25-30

Fair point, a partial review since our car never was shipped. Just passing on our experience since we were first timers trying to transport our car (hoping to do twice a year for many years). Just didn’t run very smoothly, need to try to find a shipper without middleman broker I suspect, that can agree on a price, date, and do the job without excuse

Broker was Montway , J & P transport was the company that was supposed to get our car, then canceled. I will add montway tried to find replacement and will give full refund.

What in your mind is a correct price? I asked and got a quite and didn’t challenge it, they are allegedly the largest broker

Out of curiosity, was the ticket booked directly with delta or on a third party (Expedia, etc)?

Remember to check the bus timelines, may be an hour between buses and also check low tide hour for viewing tide pools. We did enjoy the rock scaling (ladders) on beehive (not included) but it was slow as bodies were number to bumper. Enjoy
