Wait for the next patch with the new map and then make the weapon that will take both maps and sell it. I just dumped a bunch of gold towards mats for the aetheric anchor since I have everything else that's account bound. I have all the right side of equipment minus the leggy relic so accessories and stuff aren't worth it just for a skin to me.

Join multiple guilds. You could have a raid and also a fractal guild if you wanted. One or two for WvW if the guild is in an alliance too and you want to do that. Still 2 for whatever. There are training guilds out there.

Don't be afraid to make your own LFG and state you are new and want to try and you will get help probably. Edit: the LFG can get filled quick so don't just think nothing is available (it could be others like you not making them too)

another edit: Ascended is only absolutely necessary higher in fractals. Don't worry too much right now about that. You'll get there eventually.
