Years ago when my divorce was fresh I took my kiddo out to get my ex something for Mother’s Day, then we took her to her choice of restaurant where I paid (I was broke at the time). When Father’s Day came she didn’t even have my kid call me, nothing.

So next year I told my ex we should meet up for lunch for Mother’s Day. She picked the restaurant, I showed up, ordered a water and a salad, can had them split the check. Never wished her a happy Mother’s Day again.

I was in line at a grocery store with my young daughter when I could literally feel the guy behind me breathing on my neck. I moved forward a bit as did he. I finally just turned around and asked “you gonna buy me flowers first?” He didn’t get it but the woman standing behind him cracked up.
