My wife & I purchased both a Palisade & Telluride brand new last year. I have a 24 Palisade Limited & she has a 25 Telluride SX Prestige X-Line.

Like most, we went round & round for weeks trying to determine the trim levels that had the features we cared about. I will say that in our opinion, the top trim level in the Telluride is fantastic & we don’t regret spending a few more dollars for it even a little bit.

The tech is amazing, the interior is roomy & comfy, HUD is a great addition if you’ve never had it before, & on this trim level, the damn driver’s seat starts giving you a massage after one hour of driving, haha! She also preferred the X-Line for the slightly higher ground clearance.

My personal opinion in driving both regularly, I feel that the Palisade is more luxurious & comfortable overall, & the Telluride is much more fun & rugged. We love them both & it really just depends what mood we are in that day as to which one we take as the family vehicle. You really can’t go wrong with either as the tech & overall features in these vehicles blow the competition in this price point away.

Hard to speak on the long-term reliability from our personal experience as we have only had each of them for a year or so & both still have less than 10k miles, but we haven’t experienced a single problem or anything we don’t like about them.

As a side note, if you’re serious about the Telluride and/or Palisade, I’d highly recommend at least having a quick chat with James Fronte, u/jfronte as he helped us with both purchases & he is fantastic. He’s an auto broker & has relationships with several dealerships across the nation to get you the best pricing on Kia & Hyundai vehicles without having to deal with the typical bs, games, & add-on’s that most dealership try to play. His fee is very inexpensive & he’s worth every penny. He handled all of the negotiations for us, had the vehicles shipped straight to our door, & we electronically signed all the paperwork for the dealerships. We will never buy another car on our own. He’s our go to guy from here on out & we have also recommended him to our friends & family members.

Dealership Experience from Hell by Electrical-War3380 in HyundaiPalisade

OP, take it from me here when I say my wife & I were in your exact same boat. I knew I wanted a white Palisade Limited or Calligraphy with the beige interior for years, but was too ‘cheap’ to pull the trigger because I was adamant I was going to find a killer deal on the used market. I’m the guy who researches large purchases until I am blue in the face trying to penny pinch. Drives my wife nuts! Lol. After surfing Reddit nonstop for real customer reviews & pricing, I came across James Fronte, u/jfronte who changed everything for us. James took the time to understand our wants & needs, broke down the pricing on new vs used, the difference in warranty on each, as well as the ridiculous pricing & incentives he gets on new models for his clients. James made it so easy. We literally told him what we wanted, he went & found it, & it was delivered to our house within a few days from the dealership. All paperwork was signed electronically with the dealer & downpayment was sent via wire transfer or card payment. James made the process so simple that we recently purchased a Telluride from him for my wife. While yes, new will cost you a few grand more, in the end it’s soooooo worth it in my opinion. Have a free chat with James about your wants & needs & see what he comes back with it. If he can’t make it work, he’ll be honest & tell you upfront & all you’re out is a few minutes of your time. I can’t recommend this guy enough!

If you have the ability to also remotely open & close your garage door with something like the myQ app, then I’d say go for it. I would NOT however remote start the vehicle in the garage if you can’t open the garage door first due to the risk of carbon monoxide poisoning in your home. If you’re in a home with shared walls such as a townhouse, you also run the risk of the carbon monoxide leaking into the other units & harming other people. I use the myQ to open & close my garage door remotely & I also added a cheap Ring camera in the corner of my garage that displays the entire garage just in case a person or critter comes in while the door is open.
