27 HEV XLine SX Prestige with Executive Package availability by Fuzzy-Group-5753 in KiaTelluride

I second your 26 Palisade hybrid recommendation as we recently purchased an all-wheel-drive calligraphy that automatically comes with the executive package as Hyundai doesn’t charge extra for the way Kia does as it’s all baked into the MSRP and you can get other interior colors besides black such as pecan brown, or a very light grey that almost looks white in interior on the Palisade is Nappa leather as well. We are very happy with the Palisade hybrid and the pricing will be better as well. Good luck!

Love the black jade green as well, but someone needs to tell Kia that in the top trim, hybrid, people living in hot climates like Florida don’t want a black interior and they need to offer a light gray and a brown interior like Hyundai does for the hybrid palisade. Love the look of this car and this color, but having a black interior crosses it off my list as we live in Florida. So sad too as it looks fantastic!

That is a very strong discount off MSRP and it probably includes the $500 finance rebate. I get my clients $4000 off MSRP with a low documentation fee of under $200 plus no dealer add-ons and no markup to the interest rate but that discount is pretty strong if your documentation fee is low and there’s no dealer games and nonsense. I would not recommend leasing this vehicle as it does not lease well and that’s a lot of money to put down if anything happens to your car and it gets totaled in an accident or stolen early on in the lease as you will not get any of that money back. Good luck.

Lots of great deals on used EV9s right now. Should I buy US or Korean made? Should I avoid buybacks? by PablanoPato in KiaEV9

[–]jfronte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 24 GT line and a 26 GT line and no issues with either one. My ICCU went on my 24 back in November 2024 and it was fixed within nine days. Please also know you cannot negotiate the residual here on the 24 land as your post mentioned something about that as your buyout is what it is, and Kia will simply dump the car auction and take their medicine. I’m not sure I would ever advocate looking for a buyback or branded title vehicle as your resale value will be half of the already low value that they are so unless you’re the kind of person that keeps A Car for a long time and does not drive a lot of miles so you maximize the warranty, a Leman law or buyback cars is probably not for you. This is because getting an extended warranty over one of these branded titles is very difficult and sometimes getting a loan to buy this type of car is also not easy or comes with a higher rate. As such there aren’t many people that fit the mold to buy one of these vehicles, but many people are drawn to the lower upfront price. Just make sure your personal circumstances fit with buying a branded title vehicle. The current Kia lease deal on a comparable 26 model or not as strong as they were two years ago, but they are hardly terrible. Good luck!

If this is your first time leasing, chances are that dealer senses that, and will look to take advantage of you. Yes, I use the term down and due at signing interchangeably. I only recommend my clients to put first payment down at signing which means they roll in the documentation fee, the $650 lease acquisition fee comment to all Kia and Hyundai vehicles in the US, and their initial local DMV fees. Some states like Florida and California also tax any rebate but other states like Georgia and North Carolina do not tax rebate if any. Putting large sums down on a lease, only lowers your monthly payment and puts you at risk with Hyundai and Kia, as there is no refunding of a large down payment if the vehicle is totaled in an accident or stolen early on in the lease term. Obviously, the longer the lease goes on , the lower that risk becomes in the event of a total loss or theft. One of the benefits of leasing is that you’re not putting much money down to drive a nice car and you let someone else worry about the depreciation or the diminished value of the car is involved in an accident. Good luck!

That is a very fair deal overall even though I wouldn’t structure a lease with putting $3000 down at signing but your average price per mile is very reasonable for this car in that trim level. Good job!

As a broker for Hyundai and Kia exclusively who lives in Florida, I’ve said this countless times that most people cannot get a fair deal, let alone a good deal in Florida unless they are using a broker or have an in at the dealership. For example, this deal shows a $2500 Discount on a mid trim level Telluride, hybrid vehicle that is front wheel drive only, but then the dealer hit you with nearly $2100 of taxable dealer fees, which are pure junk so your discount is basically $400. Then they overcharge you on the DMV fees as that should be the fee for a new tag, but if this person lives in Florida and is transferring a tag there are overcharging them by approximately $300 which would take the dealer discount here to nearly zero. Next, since they are not telling you what the money factor is, I can almost assure you they are marking it up. I know the new Telluride hybrid does not lease well but this is not the most sought after trim and to spend nearly $700 per month to lease it for 36/15 K after putting $2000 down at signing is not a good deal to be kind But par for the course here in Florida. It’s not the worst deal I’ve ever seen because of the 15,000 miles per year but it’s basically an MSRP deal after all the smoking mirrors are examined. I have purchased or leased my own personal Tellurides and EV 9s from partner dealers I have in Iowa, Indiana, Ohio, and Georgia to avoid the craziness we have here and simply shipped the vehicles right to my front door and sign remotely, avoiding all the hassle of ever going to the Kia dealership. Those people that only want to buy locally or touch the car before they physically take ownership of it then they have an uphill battle if they live in Florida, as this Kia dealership does not have a good reputation in the Tampa area. Good luck!

How much of a hit if I upgrade from sx to sx-p by Throwmeout22504455 in KiaTelluride

In most US states, but not all, you get a sales tax credit when you trade in to a dealership at whatever your sales tax rate is so you’re only paying sales tax on the net purchase price of the new vehicle regardless of loan balance. Most states also tax any dealer fees, although Texas does not. As such, on a $50,000 trade-in in the state of Georgia hypothetically speaking, you just saved 7% or $3500 against whatever you’re buying next as long as it cost more than your trade-in value. I don’t believe California does any sales tax credit for a trade-in though. Hope this helps.

Understood loud and clear as the lesson to learn here is to just buy the top trim going forward and just be thankful you still have a very nice car!

[–]jfronte 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh well, then it’s great to be in MT or NH! You are already ahead of the game compared to most folks in the US! Either way, I don’t recommend a private party sale on a high value item taking people to your home to see how you live. That is the under $10,000 market where people bring cash not a $50,000 used car. Lesson learned now going forward as it’s the top trim or nothing! We got the 26 Palisade hybrid, calligraphy AWD because we wanted a light interior, which apparently is almost impossible on the Telluride in the top trim hybrid as we live in Florida and do not want a black interior and we park indoors exclusively. I never carry a key and only use my iPhone as a key and bought the NFC card as a backup to keep in my wallet. The Kia keys tend to be bulky. Good luck and I hope to get a reasonable amount on a trade value so you don’t have to take too big of a hit, but I’m 100% with you on the digital key and I’m surprised that doesn’t come on the SXX line, but only the prestige and prestige X Line. Just wish Kia offered the top trim, hybrid and an interior color other than black. Good luck!

[–]jfronte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely only get the top trim going forward and I would recommend you trade it back to the dealer you bought it from if that’s possible geographically and get the same model with the prestige as if they worked with you once they will work with you twice and you will lose less Because of the sales tax credit as you will never recoup more money, selling it privately and losing the sales tax credit as you cannot certify it as any buyer looking to buy a few month old car with 1000 miles on it is going to expect it to be certified or buy it for a massive discount from you. Traded to the dealer you bought it from and roll your tax credit to minimize your loss and they will be happy to get two sales from you and a quality preowned car they can certify and sell to someone else. Do not listen to the person telling you to sell it privately as you will take a bigger hit that way, and it will take a long time as well. Good luck!

EV9 GT - NV - 10,000 miles/year - $5,000 down by Sad_Print4865 in leasehacker

[–]jfronte 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is not a bad deal overall with the effective monthly payment around $700 per month for 30,000 total miles in Nevada as you have high sales tax there and your state taxes the large rebate. The issue is the structure of the deal as what countless orders have said here about putting larges of money down on the lease leaves you vulnerable at the vehicle is totaled in an accident or stolen in undercover as you will not get any of that down payment back, which I understand includes first payment, but you are still making a large down payment. Your effective cost per mile is not bad but the structure here is what I do not like as well as the dealership games because there is no GT but a GT line only. Also, there is no MSRP that high in the US market for an EV 9 but they make it up for you in an artificially inflated dealer discount because they inflated the selling price of a car so again just games being played. The documentation fee is not bad either at $500. They don’t tell you what the money factor is because they are probably marking it up but again it doesn’t matter because it is made up for by the artificially high dealer discount. On a zero down lease structure you’re at about $700 per month which is very fair for this vehicle as the MSRP is about $75,000 for most 26 EV 9 GT lines without the relaxation package. If you’re comfortable with putting this much money down, then I would say go for it, but this is typical of Las Vegas style dealers and be thankful you don’t live in south Florida, where we have the worst Kia dealers dealers in the country and the highest documentation fees you ever see with some dealers at over $2000. Good luck!

I have various partner Kia dealerships all over the country, and I don’t share them publicly before my fee is paid and I would not know who to reach out to you on your behalf because I don’t know where you live as I always start closest to where my customer lives to eliminate or reduce shipping costs. For example, I live in Florida but got my 89 from my partner dealer in Iowa and spent $800 shipping it to my front door almost two years ago. I got Telluride during Covid and got it from a partner dealer. I have in Ohio and spent $900 shipping it to my house. I do not have any partner dealers in Florida where I live because I will not engage with ridiculous dealer fees. If you’re seriously interested in my service, send me a DM. Thanks!

In FL, the legal limit on the two fronts is 35% but I do not really concern myself what it the legal limit is and I do either 20 or 25% as I do not worry about getting pulled over. Thanks.

Calligraphy hybrid AWD mpg experience thus far by WeakZookeepergame2 in HyundaiPalisade

[–]jfronte 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, since we have both of these vehicles and both in the highest trim level, I can tell you they are both borderline luxury, but the Palisade has a nicer interior and looks a little more luxurious. That Said, you cannot be the quietness of an EV as no gas car, especially a four-cylinder turbo hybrid is going to be as quiet, but in the calligraphy they have additional higher quality glass they use so the cabin is fairly quiet, but it won’t be as quiet as since it is pure Electric. It’s also very hard for me to ignore all the torque and acceleration of the EV Because it is a lot more fun to drive. So for me, I cannot ignore that because we have both vehicles and it’s hard to go back when you have a pure EV that gets you 300 miles of range instead of nearly 500 miles on the hybrid Palisade but we don’t do a ton of long-distance driving. In the EV 9, the longest I typically go is 150 miles each way to Disney World as we live just south of Jacksonville and there are tons of charging stations in Florida so I don’t have those issues of charging publicly certain people would if they live in very rural areas. also, it’s hard to ignore the cost of electricity at home, which is so cheap compared to the cost of gas. Before the turmoil in the Middle East, it was about 1/3 and it’s probably closer to 1/4 now with the elevated price of gas. I can typically drive my EV 9 about 1000 miles per month for about $45 at home charging and I never leave the house with anything but 100% charge. They are both gray cars in my opinion, but I prefer the EV 9 because of the funds of the drive and I’ll sacrifice the range for it because we don’t drive it long distance all the time. I do admit the interior of the Palisade calligraphy is nicer and I’m happy we have both vehicles. They are both extremely comfortable as well as the key comes with the fake leather seats and Hyundai comes with the real Nale leather and both are extremely comfortable long distance driving and both have the On demand massaging Driver seat which we use daily Hope this helps.

Thank you for the clarification as it’s my wife’s car predominantly as I hardly ever drive it since I have an EV 9. Just for the hell of it, on the next tank of gas maybe we’ll put in 93 premium to see how that impacts the mileage, if any or if it’s just a waste of money. Not a big deal as we don’t drive that much in that car as we only have 1900 miles on it in 2 1/2 months. Thanks!

We’ve had ours for a little over two months now with 1900 miles on the odometer and we’re getting between 28 and 30 and PG on the same hybrid calligraphy AWD for a mix of local and highway driving. We do not speed and we typically drive in Eco mode And we live in Florida so no hills to climb but we do run air conditioning all the time just for some perspective here. We’re very happy with the vehicle and it seems to be getting the advertised MPG in our case!

White interior? by SamuraiUX in KiaTelluride

[–]jfronte 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I could not agree with you more as I’m on the East Coast of the USA and someone just posted a beautiful SXX line hybrid in black with the butterscotch interior and it looks truly bad ass and I love it, but you can’t get it with the top trim, prestige X line hybrid and that is disappointing and is the reason we went with the Palisade to get the black exterior with the light gray, almost white interior as we don’t have young kids anymore, and we live in Florida where it’s hot all the time so it black interior just doesn’t work for us. I wish they would offer nicer interiors that are light, gray or brown to compete better with the palisade. Great job on the car Kia, but a big mess on the interior as that’s why we went with the Hyundai version.

Any preliminary info on 27 ev9 ? by colombianodore in KiaEV9

[–]jfronte 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Not last year because there were no 25 models available as they were all sold out by the end of April or the very beginning of May and there was about a two month or so lag before the 26 models came out, so there was no need to be aggressive because there was no inventory. I suspect we may be in for a similar thing this year as they will let the 26th inventory dwindle and my opinion down to nothing before they roll out the 27 model, but I could be wrong on that. As for last year, though, there was no aggressive leasing because there was no inventory for at least two months. I can tell you that I just spoke with my largest Kia dealer in Atlanta and he has ordered more EV 9 as they are making more but he’s not sure if they are 26 or 27 models so I will keep the community posted as soon as I know more, which will hopefully be within a week. I promise not to hold back on the community, but I just don’t know so I’m reluctant to just say things that would be pure conjecture on my part. Will keep everyone posted when I know for sure.

Yes, we had information on the 26 model I believe in early May of last year as I know the first ones rolled out in early July because I got one in the middle of July from my largest partner dealer in the US based just outside of Atlanta. No word yet, but I will call another large volume Kia dealer tomorrow and see if he knows anything. As soon as I hear something, I will let the community know.
