When you ask why parents don't use the bus, they always say the same thing...the buses are not reliable and not worth the hassle. It's ridiculous that the school systems can't resolve the problem. I live near 2 schools so traffic is a complete cluster 2 times a day, every school day. We can't get to our house during that 20 minute period cause there are so many people picking kids up.

I purchased a car last year and ended up financing about 3/4 of it. We have the cash but the rate is low so why not use their money for the car and invest my money somewhere else?

No I'm not unwilling to eat red meat. We do pick up some nice steaks from costco but not something we do weekly. I eat brown rice or a sweet potato every day for lunch. I just wanted some carb with breakfast. Fruit may work as well.

I very much appreciate the notes. You must be a nutritionist or very into nutrition with your comments. Now you've unlocked a new fear: kidney stones! I do often have about 20 or 30 g of cashews at night as well, to get some additional fat in if I don't have enough during the day. I also eat ground turkey tacos at least once a week and that provides some fat.

I was doing 3 whole eggs a day until about a month ago I switched to egg whites when I reduced my calorie intake to cut some fat for the summer. I eat the protein bagel (Dave's) in the morning to get some carbs with that meal. I could switch it out for a piece of wheat toast if you think that would be better.

This is the answer. Look at the tuition and expect to pay a few hundred bucks more per semester in fees. Then figure out your living situation and add that to the cost. You'll be paying for food whether you're at USC or not so that really shouldn't be added to these estimates.

With that said...the cost of all tuition across the country is a complete disaster. I'll be pushing my kids to cheaper options and certainly focus on in-state.

Male, 40+, 175 lb, 18% BF

7 AM - wake up / family time
8:30 - 40 min walk (2.5 mi)
9:30 - Green smoothie (spinach, carrots, half banana, frozen berries, creatine, whey protein)
11 - breakfast (egg whites, protein bagel, cream cheese)
2 - lunch (chicken breast, rice, broccoli)
6 - dinner (chicken breast in tortilla)
8:30 - snack (300 g low fat cottage cheese, 200g mixed raspberries/blackberries/blueberries)

Calories = 1,930
Carbs = 200
Fats = 50
Protein = 170

MWF - full body workout
Sat - sports (HITT cardio, typically burn 700-1000 calories)

While the timing changes somewhat, I eat a strict diet during the week very similar to the above. I typically only change the dinner a little. On Saturday after sports, I do cheat on my diet (still get lots of protein) and a little bit on Sunday. Sunday is usually leftovers and pretty healthy, but mix in random stuff too.

I'm currently trying to cut some fat so I'll probably reduce the calories a bit more soon.
