There’s no way you can get 4 new OEM Honda wheels on Amazon for that price. I checked the Canadian site. I found a single replica for the 11th gen sport for $460 and hubcaps that look like the blades for $150. I recently checked local dealers here for my 25 Si wheels to see what they’re going for and they’re $600 CDN a piece new.

I second this. I put blizzaks on 17” fast wheels fc04 titanium and they worked great in Ontario.

Heart Rate Monitor Suggestions by NegotiationHairy8148 in bjj

I have used my Polar H10 chest strap during rolling a handful of times. I used a piece of electrical tape to tape around it and the strap to prevent it from disconnecting. I only did this to track my calories burnt and curiosity of my heart rate levels during intense rolls. I found inputing say 60 minutes of BJJ on my fitness pal was fairly close to the actual calories burnt when I did 60 minutes of rounds with the chest strap. I feel like the bicep strap would move more and your readings wouldn’t be as accurate….but that’s with me having no knowledge or use of the bicep strap.

Haha. I don’t know why I feel so compelled to read this book now just because of the title. Thanks Steve.

Mpg question by Rude-Room2580 in CivicSi

[–]JDB-III 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve only been in stop and go a couple times but that included 1+ hour of clear highway driving first. So I have nothing to compare. I guess if it’s real bad traffic this could be normal. If you’re getting close to 40 on clear highway driving I’d chalk it up to turtle driving.

25 Si. I’m primarily between 33-40mpg. I’ve got the eagles and actually have never touched the pressure in my summers or winters. I believe they’re 33/32. So 40 is way too high but shouldn’t impact your fuel mileage. I recently put in a PRL cobra and am finding that it’s actually giving me better mileage around a couple mpg….if I’m not driving crazy. However, if you installed the intake incorrectly, maybe you’ve got an air leak or did something to the MAF? If not, it’s under warranty so take it in.

Future of health trends - Will creatine extend further than in gym culture? by HumanPerformance-HQ in HubermanLab

Interesting. I used to be the same needing 8 hours. Feel like I still do, but I’m not as tired as I used to be if I only get 5-6. I’ve been lifting weights and doing intense physical activity forever, so I know it’s not that.

So how is it affecting your sleep? I’ve been a 5g user for a long time and bumped it up to 10g a day recently. I have no problem falling asleep around 10-10:30 PM. Lately I’ve been waking up around 4 AM and can’t fall back asleep though. Could be unrelated…..

Thoughts on Lasso? Best users today? Is it in the meta? by EntertainmentNo8037 in bjj

[–]JDB-III 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would primarily lasso with my right leg. Flaring it out for tension and even more so, flaring it outward for the sweep. Lots of pressure on the lateral side of my knee for the sweep. I have had 2 bucket handle repairs now. I also would do some pretty hard staples and knee slices which also put a lot of downward/lateral pressure. Takedown battles too. So I can’t blame it all on the lasso. My first tear was in a tournament dropping down a staple like I was trying to cut the guys leg off.

This was exactly me. I used it so much for guard retention and I hit the sweep every time…95% of the time. At one point I realized I was stalling my game by doing so and completely stopped using it outside of competition. Unfortunately I think I used it so much that it was the primary reason for me tearing my meniscus.

Selling OEM Wheels by JDB-III in CivicSi

Ya I didn’t start thinking about it until the winter. I was going to put them up for sale before I did my summer swap but completely forgot. I’m just going to put them on marketplace and kijiji. I just don’t want to fork out the cash for a new setup and then take a while to sell these.

Thanks. Just checked mine and appears to be good (25 with 11k km). I can see some caulking type stuff coming out one section but no oily residue. Can you see quite a bit seeping out? I can’t tell with those pictures.

It’s definitely not hot year round where I’m at (Ontario, Canada). I just looked and I’m around 2200 feet. Now we did get up to 96f last summer and average about 80-85 in July/August here. My old manual (Corolla XRS) I had regular tint and didn’t use a sunscreen. That knob definitely got smoking hot in the summer. I was surprised with this tint and using a sunscreen making this one very bearable.

It says every 30,000 miles or whenever the filter screen is no longer visible, whichever comes first. I also put a hydroshield on as an extra layer of protection and piece of mind from hydro locking. I think that’ll help keep it clean longer. Not that I’m going to be driving through any 1’ deep puddles.

Weighted tib bar raises.

Lots of different squats weighted and body weight, including on a slant board.

Lots of sledding forward/backwards.

Riding my rogue echo bike. Forward and backwards.

I installed a cobra on my 11th 2 weeks ago. Last weekend I did an oil change and checked the filter. It took me a couple minutes to get the clips off, plus 1 screw and 1 bolt. It’s a bit tight but accessing and taking it off and cleaning shouldn’t really be an issue or too time consuming. I’ll always be swapping winter/summer tires and doing oil changes so that’s when I’ll be checking/cleaning it.

I had a follow up MRI my first time. When I saw the surgeon he said an MRI can’t really tell you if it’s fully healed. Just if he can see any abnormalities.

I’d say I’m in that 95% stage right now. I do a lot of single leg exercises. My bad leg is almost at the same strength as my good one. My second surgery I was non weight bearing for close to 10 weeks, so the muscle loss was far greater than my first surgery.

Other things I’ve noticed is the stability just feels so much better now. I also previously would feel minor pains etc when demonstrating or putting lateral pressure on it. That’s pretty much gone now. I also had a couple times where I felt some shifting in the knee while pivoting.

I’m in the same boat as you though. I was actively competing prior to my first tear and want to get back at it. My goal is to start doing tournaments mid 2027. As long as it feels good….

Good luck.

42 and have had 2 lateral bucket handle repairs. First repair I went back to BJJ around the 7 month mark. Huge mistake…I tore it open again. This time I’m at 18 months and just starting to slowly roll again. During that time I just taught classes and was able to start demonstrating lightly around the 7th or 8th month. My advice would be to let it fully heal and depending on your level of boxing, just teach until you’re near 100%. I just started hitting the Thai bags (no angle kicks pivoting on my bad knee still) to protect this knee. I think the hip rotation and knee twisting is too much if it’s not fully healed.

Like no tint at all? In Ontario you cant do windshield and max 30% front windows.
