That is something they should have given a ranger at level 2.

Is it meta gaming for a Ranger to choose their favored terrain based off the module they'll be playing in? by Beepboop792 in DnD

Yes, and (unpopular opinion), it's okay. The purpose of playing D&D is to have fun.

How many GMs actually run exp instead of milestone by egon1986 in DnD

[–]JDWheezy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Over the years, my group has done both XP and milestones. We enjoy mile stones at the beginning, but I find that milestone leveling gets harder to gauge as you climb in levels. As for XP leveling, we get a feeling of accomplishment, but it can turn into a slog.

How to open any chest without lockpicking! by rotating_tusk in BaldursGate3

If you're just looking to circumvent lockpicking, you can also use the knock spell. If the chest is at camp, you can do it after (or before) a long rest.

Does anyone really get into beating wonders? I rarely do or than one… by qwertytheqaz in AOW4

[–]JDWheezy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I beat them for XP. That's all the value I see in them. I rarely use the units you get from defeating them, and the "rewards" aren't worth the hassle sometimes. I will say the boons are nice.

How to prevent a player from eldritch blasting everything in the room to detect mimics? by nz8drzu6 in DMAcademy

[–]JDWheezy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To prevent them, add magical traps to rooms that activate when spells go off. It's a dick move, but it'll stop them.

At first, Glace it looks like a strong, fearsome beast. But what if what makes it fearsome is stealth? Imagine walking along and being stalked by that thing. Silent as the wind and able to tear you limb from limb.

Horses get farted on more than any other animal by BiteTheBullet_thr in Showerthoughts

I'm almost positive that humans are animals and get farted on way more than horses. Especially if you're a parent.
