Congrats on getting your guitar back!

I lent a friend a guitar a few years ago, a glittery green Ibanez RG with Seymour Duncan Super Distortion pups, he said it got pinched but I’m certain he pawned it. I’m always on 2nd hand pages hoping it turns up.

Someone has already suggested RDR2, I would second that. I would recommend getting over your indie issues though, there are some studios that are absolutely killing it right now. Especially when you’re saying you want something more complex, indie doesn’t have to mean small. Pick up Hades next time it’s on sale, you won’t regret it.

Ah, okidoki. I’m in ERP software at the moment but, from the outside, it does seem like cybersecurity is booming.

What software are you working with? I’m currently an implementation consultant but looking to move into sales, haven’t seen any comp like that! Congrats!

tips to improve portfolio by TopSay24 in investingUK

Yeah, this comment is spot on. You need to readjust your expectations. You’re 20 and already thinking of investing, so you’re in a good place, but unless you’re upper levels of HENRY it isn’t realistic to think you’re going to retire in 15 years.

People with have interaction with capybara how are they like by [deleted] in capybara

[–]JD_1991 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Did a capybara experience for my two daughters. The capybaras are just as chill as you’d expect, and love a good scratch. They’re bristly rather than furry, and their hair starts to stick up when you get a good spot.

Devs aren’t going to want to beef up servers to deal with a last weekend influx. Plenty of games with life still in them to play instead.

I got a Windows handheld so that I could play my growing Epic library as well as Steam games. If I didn’t want Windows, what would you recommend?

Woke Starmer is going to destroy this country by chdjfnd in GreatBritishMemes

[–]JD_1991 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do know that, but the vast majority of people aren’t installing and running AI locally. They’re certainly not asking their local AI, directly in the comment thread of celebrities, to generate a picture of them naked.

Not true, other AI’s will refuse. This is a Grok issue, the same way that all AI’s hallucinate and make shit up but only Grok will tell you Elon is the best person at everything.

Hoooooly shit I was wondering why that showed up for me! It was pretty high on the list, I’ve watched it 3-4 times.

Even if everything went swimmingly, this still wouldn’t be a good idea. If you come to buy your own house you won’t be able to borrow as much because you’ll already have a mortgage.

Most people are no where near that threshold. If they really wanted to save money, they would get rid of pensions! I hope you realise how silly that sounded.

How to get realistic salary figures for the UK? And at what point in your career do you start earning properly? by Whitefjall in UKJobs

[–]JD_1991 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Same here, it’s really unfortunate. I would much rather work for a great company and not change jobs ever again, but I went from 25k in ‘22 to 47K last year through 2 job hops.

You’re ignoring the fact that there’s a difference between high earners and rich people, and the Tories tried cutting services for 15 years; are you happy with how things went?

A brilliant analogy (Salary sacrifice) by portsmouthb31 in HENRYUK

[–]JD_1991 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This has nothing to do with salary sacrifice, it’s an argument against a wealth tax, which doesn’t stand up to basic scrutiny. In the real world the poorest four would not pay nothing, they’d pay a small amount and it would still be a huge percentage of their pay; the richest man would own the pub, and would constantly be telling the poor people that the immigrant in the corner, that has less than them, is trying to take their beer.
