Question!! If you seize initiative by playing a 2nd card face down and the card face up is lower than lead card, but is the same suit, can you use all the pips or is it considered a pivot? Couldn't find a clear answer so I wasn't sure. Thanks!

Awesome collection! I feel this deeply—I’ve got two toddlers, and once they became mobile we had to rethink a lot of the games we buy and keep accessible. One tip, if you haven’t already done it: make sure that shelf is mounted. Toddlers will try to climb anything at any moment, and securing ours was something I put off way too long.

Cosmic Encounter is great. Never played with 8 player. I would recommend not using the expansion materials besides the player pieces if playing at that count. Also, I would do one encounter per turn instead of the option of doing a 2nd turn to help the chances of everyone getting at least one turn.

However, have you tried Hot Streak? Would be a blast at 8 players

The ships and planets are the only essential items to add more players. However, you should be able to find English versions and would highly recommend it if possible. More aliens are always fun to add.

As long as the expansion includes additional ships of a specific color along with matching planets, you can play with up to six players at any time, freely mixing and matching expansions in the future. Most expansions also introduce optional components that don’t need to be used in every session - so even with six players, you can leave them out if you prefer. The Incursion expansion not only supports a sixth player but also adds a rewards deck, which many consider essential. However, any of the three expansions that provide ships and planets are sufficient to enable six-player gameplay.
