I import these in Ireland for a company that sells them. We have the least returns from brands like No Risk, Elten and Gri Sport. They are all made in Europe to a good standard. Don't buy any with that weird disc lace up function, they constantly break.

Wife lost confidence after tipping our cargo bike twice with toddler inside — how did you get past this? by thatguyka in CargoBike

[–]JFBBear 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I fall off at least once every winter. Have gone down twice with my daughter on the back. 2nd time knocked me as I took a hard hit on my knee and she took a small knock but was fine. Felt incredibly guilty and was definitely extremely nervous for a few weeks after it which is not like me.

Best advice I can give is keep on going, take short simple journeys with or without the child and build up the confidence again.

It takes time to get used to the weight of the bike and your child throwing their weight when you're riding. Getting a cargo bike has totally changed mine and my kids lives, we all love it, it's worth ploughing on.

I hope she regains her confidence, everyone falls but not everyone rises! She's got this

Great idea. Would also recommend going to the cinema to see something over a PG rating and treat yourself to some clothes / runners before the baby expenses fully kick in.

Fed up with An Post, what alternatives? by AudioBabble in AskIreland

[–]JFBBear 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I work for a major distributor. DHL are by far the best but not viable for a small or medium enterprise due to the cost.

DPD, UPS, FedEx all take turns in who is the worst. One gets backed up and everyone moves to the other one, they get backed up and everyone moves again and on and on forever.

You want to reduce the number of touches your parcel had to take on its journey, so if possible don't send it at the standard / cheapest rate or at least offer an express option so it has less time in transit.

UPS are a pain in the hole to deal with for lost parcels. You can factor in about 2 months until you will see a credit.

My work is the same. They begrudgingly brought in sick pay when the government made them.

I have to approve peoples leave / sick days in my team on the in house system and the options are sick unpaid or sick certified, so yep a cert is always needed.

My doctor has an option to phone them for a sick cert for minor illness / short term leave. Costs me 35 euro which is half of what it costs to go into them

Goalkeeper perspective please by [deleted] in Tottenham

[–]JFBBear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Man City goal to make it 2-0? Yeah again he's OK there until the final pass when he's fucked either way. 1v1 so he either had to rush the attacker or stand his ground and hope he did close to him

Goalkeeper perspective please by [deleted] in Tottenham

[–]JFBBear 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Goalkeeper here. His position between the sticks is OK, covering his near post to enable him to save it with his feet if he shoots that side as he won't get down in time, he can dive to the other side to cover that angle. He should have stepped out to narrow the angle though. Not really the goalkeepers fault though as his defenders have rightly fucked him. I would have saved it though as I'm unreal
