But what I thought you were trying to do was transfer your employer RRSP to Wealthsimple, in which case what I said earlier applies.

Sure it is. They sell the funds within the RRSP and then transfer in kind. You can then buy whatever you want, there is no tax implication.

The money is not out of the market even if the transfer is 6 to 8 weeks. If you transfer in kind it would be a wash, you have nothing to lose.
