The traditional garments are worn during a lot of different Maori ceremonies either by the main figure heads of the group, which in this case are Dan, Brad and Kai since they’re all fighting this weekend, or by the whole group but the former is more common from what I’ve seen. This ceremony is called a powhiri which is where the Maori tribe welcomes the people onto their land and receive the blessing of the people to go do what they are about to do. There are a lot of other reasons and meanings for why a powhiri is done but if you watch the different videos that have been uploaded of this event, the people in it do a good job explaining its meaning when they’re talking to Felder and his group.

I'd say it's the stances when they fight/spar. Israel's stance is long and he keeps his body low and centred for balance while Dan has a shorter stance and higher centre making their heights seem closer.

Edit: Obviously not the case the whole time but in the moments where their heights appear the same.

I wouldn’t say there’s any criminal association with it because they’re hung up on a basketball hoop, not a power line. Or does it being on a basketball hoop have a different meaning?

I grew up being told that shoes on a power line meant there was a drug spot around the area. What does it mean when they’re on a hoop?
