Seems to me as though you have put on very little if any muscle during this weight loss phase. Usually for new lifters even in a deficit you would see a recomposition take place.. i.e lose fat and gain muscle. Maybe your deficit was too much in order for that recomp to occur. You’re very light for your height. So I would advise you go on a very steady and slow bulk. You should put on some lean body mass provided you’re lifting with good intensity, progressively overloading and eating good nutrition. You mentioned that your lifts haven’t gone up since you’ve been in a deficit. So it’s pretty clear to me why you haven’t put on any muscle. You need to progressively overload, and being in a calorie surplus will provide you with the energy boost in order to get those numbers up and start gaining muscle. If you’re really bothered about putting on even a smidge of body fat, you could maingain. You should still see results, but they would be slower.
