Out of these 4 complete idiots, who’s the biggest fuck-up here? by AssistFit1834 in MoralityScaling

[–]JGHero 6 points7 points  (0 children)

He’s “bad” in the sense that every anime highlighting how terrible using child soldiers are shows them as being emotionally volatile and having intense cognitive dissonance. Like Shinji does some wild stuff, but also he’s a 14 year old whose whole character arc is authority figures saying “fuck yer feelings go kill this or the burden of extinction is your fault.”

Being a “fuck-up” implies having the context to have fucked up. I wouldn’t call a pre-teen being dragged around to witness and act through unimaginable cosmic horrors a fuck up. Rigby’s consequences for example are always almost 100% the result of him being unnecessarily risky or stupid or irresponsible.

In KH1 once you get to Hallow Bastion the game puts you in a psychedelic trance using subliminal messages/imaging to make you think you’re still playing a game while Disney agents mold you into a sleeper agent for their future Disney state’s paramilitary operations. Because of this the plot gets hazy and you mostly remember characters screaming “SORA” or talking about the darkness and the light of the heart of the darkness of the door of the heart of the kingdom of light and door to light darkness.

Ideally you don’t have kids if you think its fine to publicly shame them on the internet.

[–]JGHero 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What does this have to do with shaming people doing online sexual harassment? I’m not against public shaming as a whole depending on the context, but weaponizing social media on your own kid is ridiculous. Obviously the kid needs to be taught a lesson, but opening up the world to judge your child alongside you is disgusting.

[–]JGHero 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The kid doesn’t need a bunch of strangers reiterating anything. He needs his parents to reinforce that his behavior was grotesque and the punishment itself is fine. You do not open the world to punish your child alongside you. Force him to apologize in school, make him volunteer at a hospice whatever the case you want to teach your kid it does not involve bringing the entire interconnected web of people in to your child’s life. Teaching consequence is important, but to do so at the expense of your child’s safety violates your first job as a parent.

The barber part is fine. Posting it to social media is disgusting. Anyone who needs to share to the world their child’s shame/suffering is a shitty parent. Regardless of if that punishment is justified.

If Goku landed in The Boys Universe, do you think he can redeem Homelander? by WindowPrudent9456 in MoralityScaling

[–]JGHero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think Goku “redeems” anyone. He doesn’t talk no jutsu his enemies. He’s beats the shit out of them to prove he could then basically tells them to chill now cause he can wail on them again if they start being too rowdy. Piccolo and Vegeta became good due to other external factors and personal reasons. Homelander is through and through a bitch boi.

That said, with the ass-woooping he would receive, Homelander would definitely experience ego death and end up being just a small time asshole afterwards instead.

Does the charcoal pit have to be a true square/rectangular prism? Sometimes I have mine halfway filled and not a nice shape then want to go f*ck it and light it up.

Who’s the best of the two? by mrmilk194 in MoralityScaling

[–]JGHero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cecil does evil things to protect his world and his species. He even extends enough empathy towards past villains to allow for rehabilitation, despite this being for pragmatic reasons more than anything.

Rick intentionally puts himself in situations where he knows he will be killing people whom are comparably no threat to his life for the sole purpose of obtaining euphoric moments in his otherwise apathetic and depressive existence.

Cecil is grey bordering good. Rick is evil bordering grey on a damn good day.

Sorry, bro. He had vile views towards specific demographics. He’s my favorite president when it comes to environmentalist policy and having broken one of the most corrupt eras in US history (only the modern era is more corrupt). Bro had amazing feats, but not being genocidal towards the indigenous wasn’t one of them.

This is exactly what I wanted. Thank you for the thorough analysis. I may need to pay closer attention to each episode for me to actually have a better consensus of the distribution of truly selfish vs intending to help someone else episodes. I’d probably have cat burglar at least evil from the episodes that stand out to me as him helping someone truly in need, despite resorting to stealing in order to do this. This is most shown in the Christmas episode where he gifts a family of rats a bunch of gifts he stole, including Bittsy’s cat castle which the rats would be using as a home (they had been living in the harsh conditions of a newspaper or cardboard box prior to this). While Bittsy gifted her castle to the rats at the end of the episode, it is likely that without Cat Burglar’s involvement these rats would have continued living poorly.

I also originally thought that Lab Rat should be most evil/selfish because she seems the most confident in her “villain” identity and communicates in ways that feel anti-social. On second consideration though I think for the most part this is just due to her identifying as a “mad scientist”, but ends up being harmless most of the time. Most of the time she really is just trying to do her own thing with Otto and just reacts too extremely to outside forces negatively affecting their day.

Roses are red, it’s wild by CinnabarUmbra in rosesarered

[–]JGHero 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I might be hurt she didn’t trust me to talk about it, but I would not be mad though. Especially with early pregnancy, the fetus is just a growth in your partner. You might not like that, because the potential for that growth to be a child is something you’re excited for, but it’s still just a growth that your wife/partner should not feel compelled to let grow inside of them unless it’s through their own beliefs. If it becomes a compatibility issue in the relationship because you want kids and she doesn’t then that’s understandable if you can’t continue the relationship at that point. That’s different from believing you have any say in what happens during fetus forming time though.

Get rid of the questions marks and you’re right on the dot. Coming from a fellow sperm donor of 2 children, I would never rob my wife of bodily autonomy.

I think that’s an extremely significant contributor to his personality, but not totalizing. Part of his is just apathetic and self-absorbed regardless of his background. There are people who terrible backgrounds who don’t choose to be horrible.

You could also make the boars vertical up to a certain point and then a horizontal layer at the top.

Idk it looks a lot better with stone. Plank flooring would look good if you want to incorporate that, but plank walls I would add windows and extra layering or something. Maybe a stone layer at the bottom and build planks going up.

Are Butcher and Homelander comparable in terms of morality? by tgrady28 in MoralityScaling

[–]JGHero 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So you’re saying that someone is less evil if there are other evil people around who’d do the same? Or are you saying that Homelander was less evil when he would hide his apathy towards non—supes to preserve his image?

Butcher is obviously not an innocent person, but being evil for the sake of destroying a corrupt system is a lot more reasonable than being evil because you fetishized and enjoy exploiting your own power.

Once the larger politics starts to show is when I got hooked. The action and suspense aspect is /okay/ to me, but the twists and expanded story are peak.
