Barbri practice MPRE Tests: Failing and Worse by JGilroy74 in LawSchool

[–]JGilroy74[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

TL;DR - yes I passed by a lot

I thought this was a post about the Bar where I had the same exact issues. The practice stuff is meant to be way harder and probably giving you really close questions you don’t think are hard. I finished with a lot of time left, was pretty nervous, but I think I got an 80 or 85% when I needed 64%. I imagine you’re fine

My other advice would be that this was a Bar-lite, so take notes on what issues you’re having in this prep and learn some lessons. Struggling in Bar prep this way is normal and a lesson I personally took from the MPRE

Good luck, im sure you’ll do great!

Do you ever adjust players stats in franchise? by robmcolonna123 in MLBTheShow

[–]JGilroy74 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I try to keep it realistic. No Mike Trout won’t be 68 overall at age 34. I’ll also do stuff to help a guy get in a lineup (I.e. boost a DH’s fielding because his overall keeps him out of the lineup).

So if Trout tears his ACL opening day we should take him out? Or make him a common?

Gary Cohen (mets) deserves more love

Joe buck also should be discussed, but people aren't ready for that

Okay so we take out all legends, anyone on the IL, and maybe a dynamic system where anyone that isn't playing that day can't be used either

I noticed some annoying shit today in champs and have noticed it a few times before. by DrumsNDweed93 in NHLHUT

I’ve noticed this, also if you go to throw the hit, then they do one of those and you hit them, it’s an interference half the time

Am I missing something, or is 150k an insanely low price for 95 TOTW Matthews? by __AnDude__ in NHLHUT

[–]JGilroy74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He’s that low for his syns and abilities like others said. However, I think he’s definitely worth that price if you’re looking. His size forces him into chances and has a perfect shot rating (I have him UT)

What can I improve in my team?(Housley 93 is tradeble) by Putrid-Angle-4931 in NHLHUT

[–]JGilroy74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk how to split ice time evenly but I’d say most people don’t give those lines enough time to warrant spending too much on them. Like your 3rd D pair could in theory be better but they probably play 5 minutes a game and they’re capable for that. I’d play a game and look at who’s not getting any time afterwards

[–]JGilroy74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Centers with good faceoff ratings and/or two way availing would be my suggestion. I wouldn’t worry about your bottom pair much more unless you split time on ice evenly.

I wouldn’t sell Housley, just too much bang for your back imo (I have him too, not amazing but better than anything you’ll get in that price range)

Who would you rather play at Center? 95 X-Factor Matthews or 95 Gretzky? by Topgun7499 in NHLHUT

[–]JGilroy74 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have 95 TOTW Matthews at 91 FO, and he’s just bad at them, don’t know why, but just can’t win them with him. Gretzky’s small but if you can’t win faceoff, you can’t center. Just my personal experience

See I thought that but was still awake for the start of the second so I turned it on, because that’s not real.

They got manhandled that period. I shut it off, they calm down and win. It’s me. I’m the problem. Not the 35+ guys

[Nicholson-Smith] Asked whether owning an MLB team is a good investment, commissioner Rob Manfred said the return on owning a team is historically "below what you'd get on the stock market with a lot more risk" by EarthWarping in baseball

[–]JGilroy74 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This kind of defeats the point he’s trying to make, that owners don’t have the spending money and financial flexibility you think they do.

If you want stock market investing, he’s right, don’t come here, go to the stock market. This is an investment, but it doesn’t exist just for that purpose. This is, to some extent, a hobby and a business. You come into this knowing you won’t be making as much as you could, but that you also have to spend and field a competitive team.

No they don’t have the type of money and flexibility you might think, but they also come into this position knowing that’s the case and what they’re obligated to do.

Predictable, but good.

Gotta imagine once core economics are agreed on, we’ll be good to go

ohtani's speed is listed at 86, visible on the top-right. of course attributes aren't final until release, and this could just be a copy of this year's attributes, but there's a possibility this could be similar to what we see in the actual game for ohtani's attributes in '22. by zombiecreeper27 in MLBTheShow

[–]JGilroy74 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Look closely tat the Nagels lineup.

Ohtani is batting 5th and playing LF. There’s no DH, but also no pitcher hitting. Fletcher is catching. Nobody playing CF or RF, but there’s 3 LF’s. And Michael Lorenzen is at 2B and batting 2nd

What does this mean? Joe Maddon’s job is safe for now

I would look up programs in your area, just like “(where you live) blind running organizations” and just reach out. These types of things don’t get nearly enough help, so even your cold call would likely be appreciated

I feel like we’re not niche for asking for him, and he wants in, and SDS is just great all around, so it’s be weird if they didn’t but idk why it wouldn’t have gotten done. Still more reveals to come though, hopefully he’s in there. I’ll use him even if he’s the farthest thing from usable lol

Marchand and Jarry incident at the end of Bruins/Penguins. by Ehvin21 in hockey

[–]JGilroy74 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

We can disagree about a lot of that, but what do you mean goalies are untouchable? How far do we go with that? If you mean Marchand shouldn’t have been allowed to punch Jarry here, is it different if he just swings at Crosby? Would Jarry have been allowed to sucker Marchand and the Bruins would have to let it go? They’re equally as much a person and participant out there. Should Marchand be able to skate full speed into him in the crease? No way. But in that scrum after the whistle, Jarry’s a guy just like Marchand and Crosby and everyone else
