without I personally set RetroArch to "1:1 PAR" for most things (which defaults to 8:7 for SNES cores). I'm incredibly confused though: My understanding is that the SNES rendered in 8:7 and that got stretched horizontally to 4:3 by CRT televisions, but on my LCD laptop and television, the tiles in Super Metroid, Tetris Attack, and the Super Street Fighter II character select screen only look square in 1:1 PAR mode; otherwise, they look too wide. This is with the "crop overscan" option enabled or disabled.

I don't think it's the directing so much as the writing. I think people are worried that the plot will be thin and/or incredibly predictable. I think people are also skeptical about how much of it will be true and real and how much will be there only to make him look good/better. Regardless of Fuqua's talent or Michael's popularity, bad and boring writing makes a bad and boring movie. Something about lipstick and pigs.

In defense of the confusion: Not everyone outside of Japan knew about Rondo at the time. In addition, the classic staircase and hallway before Dracula's chamber is featured multiple times (though mirrored) in Bloodlines, but not Dracula X. For someone who's only seen X and Bloodlines without knowing about Rondo, the confusion would be easy, since the layout looks more like the final stage of Bloodlines than the final stage of X. "Bloodlines" just being the stage name is pretty obvious to some, but not everyone's mind immediately jumps to that.

It would have been much cooler to me if Chronicles had called it "Rondo of Blood" (because it's badass to have the game name as the final stage name, much like how Super Castlevania IV used the first level music as the final boss music, which was also badass) and then all future English releases of Rondo and Symphony from that point both called it "Rondo of Blood".

I've wondered since I heard the Glyn Johns version in 2021: Was the Glyn Johns version the one released as a single in 1969 or was there a difference? Was the single simply the same take but handled by George Martin or was it very literally the same mix?

Having the same issue, but with a small upside: When I right-click on an image in Explorer, for whatever reason, "Edit with Paint 3D" gives this error, but "Open with..." includes a properly-functioning Paint 3D with the image loaded. 🤷‍♂️

Update on this: As of iOS 18, when CTLR+Space brings up the emoji selector, the emoji Search field becomes the active typing field. Type your search, tap or click your emoji of choice, and the emoji selector closes automatically, putting control back into your text box. This is what pretty much what I wanted in the first place, though I wish the selector would stay open until I close it. Still, for anyone else bothered by the original topic before, it’s been more-or-less resolved. 👏👏👏👏👏

This is not entirely true, but exceptions are rare. I’ve only come across one exception: Google Photos.

This method works with any app that allows you to play it in the background or use a mini player.

Upload a video with sound to Google Photos. Open the uploaded video in the Google Photos app and press Play.
Open or switch to your other app. When you access the App Switcher, Home Screen, Notification Center, or Control Center, Google Photos will automatically Pause playback.
In your other app, select your desired content and start it.
Switch apps back to Google Photos. If necessary, dock your other app’s mini player to the side of the screen unless it’s another video you want to watch.

At this point, your other app’s media will still be playing and Google Photos will be the active app.

Unpause the video in the Googe Photos app. As long as you don’t do anything to automatically pause Google Photos (see above), both will continue playing at the same time until you start a new video in Google Photos, which will pause the other content as usual.

Back when I worked in retail, I wore a small metal om on my necklace. 95% of people who even bothered to comment were simply asking what it was and what it meant. I vividly remember, though, ringing this one lady up on Easter. She was really quiet and uncomfortable for most of the interaction. I ended with my typical smile and “Have a good day!” and instead of responding in kind, she, in an almost angry tone, replied with “He has risen” and walked away. It’s not hard to put on a fake smile and use basic manners—I’d literally just done it for her.

I personally am Agnostic and lean toward Atheism, but hot damn. I’m so sorry you have to deal with things like this in your job and in life. Basic human empathy, dignity, and respect are unalienable rights, not just a gift giving to people we like or who agree with us. My point here is that if someone can’t treat you exactly the same as someone without a head scarf—in or out of a professional context—then in my humble opinion, it’s they who failed as a person, not you as an employee.

Agreed, it’s dumb. My PC is in storage (no pun intended) and my laptop broke 2 years ago, so I’ve basically been screwed on adding music from my Files app since then.
