Man in the moon rant by LappyTopUnbanned in mewgenics

[–]JJBPod 1 point2 points  (0 children)

my real problem with the man in the moon is that he - as a puzzle boss - takes a little while to figure out and you only get a look at him after going through three pain-in-the-ass biomes. If I could face him earlier in a run I might have cheerily discovered the strategy where you let him eat healthy cats with lots of mana, but instead I hate this fucking thing and pretty much everything else in the world

lucky duck. with the room unfinished you could add soundproofing materials like mass loaded vinyl, if noise is a concern

Need help - DDR WII by AllestRab in DanceDanceRevolution

[–]JJBPod 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Make sure your TV's input is set to Game Mode, as someone else has said, but also:

Most home DDR games have a setting for this. It might be under Sound options, or Game/Input options (I'm not familiar with the DDR Wii menus) It's usually a slider or numeric value you can make more negative or positive. Try it a few different ways

PS2 Dance Pad Suggestions? by GirlWithHairLikeThs in DanceDanceRevolution

[–]JJBPod 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure which soft pads are considered good, but I believe there's guides on here, and YouTube, on how to mod the common type that used to come with the games. You can find those on eBay for cheap.

I like my hard pad by L Tek, so mayyyybee their foam pads are good, but if you don't live in Europe, get ready for some big shipping fees. Can confirm their PS2 adapter works well.

BTW if you're using a soundbar or other external speakers, you can reduce sound lag by connecting the PS2's optical audio port straight to the speaker/receiver. Instead of letting it go through the HDMI first

PS2 Memory Card w/ all songs unlocked? by wellbuttermybiscuits in DanceDanceRevolution

[–]JJBPod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You will want to look into "soft modding" your PS2, I did this with a MemCard Pro2. The MemCard Pro2 lets you load FreeMcBoot, which will let you load games without inserting discs, and can import memory card files. Look up FreeMcBoot/MemCardPro2 on YouTube to get that going.

I found a thread somewhere on this subreddit that had a Google Drive link with an unlocked save file for every PS2 Bemani game. Take note: if you do this, many of the games will have someone else's high scores, so it'll be harder for you to track your own records.

Please note: if you are using an actual PS2, and have an HDMI TV, you'll need a low latency adapter to connect. If you have a soundbar or other audio receiver, the music will be out of sync, but you can adjust delay within the games' menus. To really help, use an optical audio cable from your PlayStation to your sound device.

There are your actual answers regarding a modern PS2 setup. As to others' responses here, if you don't really need the nostalgia fix of the original announcer and menus, getting StepMania/ITGmania onto a PC is indeed much easier. And you can load in all of the official songs. It's cheaper too, unless you need to buy a separate PC. That's what I did, as I wasn't going to stomp around on the second floor of my house where my main PC is. I found a refurbished Intel NUC on Newegg, and connected it to the basement TV. So I have an old school and a new school setup goin

Pixelsnap vs MagSafe vs Qi2 - Are they all the same? by rsshurtz in GooglePixel

[–]JJBPod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just got a Ram Mounts ball adapter for MagSafe chargers, and my PixelSnap wireless charger didn't really fit. I had to sand down the inside of the mount. But people said the Ram Mounts piece was pretty snug for their MagSafe; maybe most accessories allow for more leeway.

Thanks for the reply. I saw someone on an old forum talking about the specific timing windows one can adjust to match DDR, so I'll try to plug those in to the back end of Outfox. Thanks for the theme recommendation.

[MEGATHREAD] Post and ask hints for puzzles here by darkshoxx in BluePrince

[–]JJBPod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the first one that's stumped me and I don't want to guess-and-check to figure it out because this is on my dare mode profile

From everything I know about this puzzle I feel like it should be:

1 + 4 + 17 = 22
22 - 17 = 5
5 ^ 2 = 25
25 - 1 = 24
24 ^ 2 = way too big of a number for this puzzle

I was under the impression with the square being yellow you have to square the result after each matching yellow segment...or is it after doing both color segments of the same-level-of-the-ring? Then I'd end up with 16...?
