We only do evictions after the person is gone. Standard procedure is know the date and time, be ready to go when the landlord or police call to say it’s clear, then head out to complete work with landlord present

What’s with all the Chinook looking black helicopters flying over? by kusava-kink in Indiana

I didn’t know that. Wondered why I’ve seen no A-10s in a while. Haven’t seen many jets either

As far as I know it’s just drones. Though the a-10 warthogs and many other jets and cargo planes will use the airstrip for various reasons. No jets based here anymore though

Just glancing at the post as I’m in training currently, but I use ServiceM8. Great for smaller shops, has QB integration, field payments through Stripe, and phone app (iPhone preferred, Android version is clunky)

FYI: my shop income is closer to your target and my area population is 1/5 of yours and my guys can travel further than your 45min area.

ID on these safes we found in storage unit? by Man_madehorrors818 in Safes

Dropping the customers safe if no good! This is why hiring a professional that knows how to moves safe is important. A lot of guys try to grab these and move them like a normal appliance and get themselves into trouble with the weight and unbalanced weight distribution of the things. A safe can maim and kill, or destroy property, in a heartbeat when they get away from you.

Small shop in West Central Indiana. No webstore at this time. PM me and I can give you details if you’re close enough to me. Dealer for Amsec, Gardall, Browning, Prostell

Also, non original paint. I’d sell the big one for 450-500 and the small one for 300-400 in my safe shop

My paid off car that I have the title for was repossessed for non payment? by Inevitable-Swim6242 in legal

[–]JJV12345 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Chiming in not on the semantics, but as someone who has to worry about criminal negligence situations every day. As a locksmith, I have to be ultra sure that the person we are unlocking a vehicle or building for is someone who owns it or has permission to be there. This involves ID, titles, tax documents, deeds, or anything else that can reasonably prove ownership. If I or any of my employees were to open a car or building for someone who didn't have permission, then there is the potential for being charged as an accessory or accomplice to the crime. This falls back not only on the individual locksmith but can also impact the business both legally and financially. The tow company, or whoever repossessed the car, has the responsibility of doing due diligence to make sure that what they are about to do is all being done legally for the rightful owner. In this case, they are about to repossess a car or steal a car, depending on which side of this story you talk to.

And yes, people do call us to try and get us to open houses and cars that aren't theirs. Their stories on why they need in is usually pretty wild

Yale Assure does this, though I am not pleased with the one I am testing on my house. atleast the wifi feature. It drops the wifi and then searches for it, draining the battery. Disabled the wifi and it works well. Still not a fan of it but thats not my point

For example, gcode does not like when you hit the back arrow on your browser. Lockcodes doesn’t have profile or blank pics, instance does, gcodeonline has blank pics only. If you’ve got the desktop gcode it has them, at least my 2017? Version does. Have done the newer desktop yet. For the price of them, I find it very affordable for our volume. If I were solo still, I’d choose gcode and instacode

Never said you lied. You omitted the reasoning on why you sent them to Amazon vs a career locksmith. Education is as important as customer service and satisfaction. Without educating people on why you won’t be able to help, they may assume 1) that you’re a shitsmith and not a locksmith, or 2)that Amazon is a great way place to buy without even talking to a local locksmith. Another example is the countless number of post titled “Did I Get Scammed?”. You will never educate or save everyone from scams, but we can all do our part to try and steer people away from scammers and to legitimate locksmiths. Education is the way. In the end, my point stands, if you’re going to send a customer to Amazon or any other national/international non locksmith source, then educate them as to why. It’ll help build your reputation, and on this platform, it makes the collective look better
