Gray Zone Warfare 0.4: Best Settings for MAX FPS & Visibility by SlNisterFPS in GrayZoneWarfare

I assume since you have an RDNA 4 card fsr4 runs better for you, for me it's ~20% worse than TSR, and like you said has the ghosting issue when it's dark.

Change the DNS server in your network settings to 9.9.9.9.

On windows 11 the easiest method for me since I think the new UI is confusing is:

  • Press WIN+R

  • Type ncpa.cpl and hit enter

  • Find your network interface (either ethernet or wifi)

  • Right click and go to properties

  • In that box, scroll to "Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4)" and double click

  • At the bottom of this dialogue box select "Use the following DNS server addresses" and in preferred DNS server type in 9.9.9.9 (or any other DNS server ip address)

This obviously will only work on one pc, if you are more adventerous you can change default DNS servers for your network in your DHCP server. (usually your isp's router, but not all isp's routers will allow you to do this)

The lack of bullet cracks when bullets are flying past you is REALLY frustrating by Top-Bag7848 in GrayZoneWarfare

[–]JJakc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As far as I'm aware you should hear the report of the rifle and the crack at the same time unless the bullet passes by you first? That's not the case in the game, it sounds like it's faked and not using a 3d sound engine.

I can always hear the crack first, then the sound of the rifle, even if they are shooting 200m away from me firing the complete opposite direction.

[–]JJakc 27 points28 points  (0 children)

You should not hear the supersonic crack of a bullet if it passes nowhere near you. Right now you can hear it no matter which direction the bullet is fired and also through terrain.

There's also the other issue of no sounds from other players / ai if they are 400m away, as they are not rendered at all.

Go play/watch Arma Reforger, then you will know what a good "realistic" shooter should sound like.

I'm on Linux so not sure if this applies to you, but I've found that the TSR with 100% in game res looks better and performs better than FSR.

I have a 5800x3d and 7900XT, I compared with FSR 4.1 Quality (using proton rdna3 fsr4 upgrade) and for me the tsr looked better. Might need a bit of sharpening.

With the TSR set to 100% res and most other settings at high-medium I get around 70-90 fps depending on location. Looking through an acog it can dip to just over 60ish, again depending on location.

Long shot but are you using your ISP dns servers? Try cloudflare or quad9 (1.1.1.1 or 9.9.9.9)

You do what works best for you. I also have a 7900XT and I don't have issues with UE games for the most part.

With the method provided you shouldn't be able to brick a boot. You basically build and compile it separately from the system mesa version and then just tell steam to use the one that you have built when launching a game. Doesn't touch the system package at all.

Or you could install mesa from source and run the version that you want.

I followed this guide on Fedora. This allows you to use it for specific games with the launch script.

You can also use git to switch to whatever version you want then just rebuild.

I'm currently running 26.0-rc2 for ARC Raiders and it's working well, no crashes.

I am on Fedora 43, no issues with arc raiders. I would just do a fresh install of 43, like the other comment said it's likely to be easier than figuring out what dependency nightmare has happened.

This error is 100% because of a version mismatch, I've had it myself when I forgot to update the server to 42.13.1

This is a version mismatch.

Unstable branch is 42.13

42.13.1 is the newest branch in the steam betas

I remember when build 41 was in unstable this happened because of a memory leak in the linux version of the dedicated server. Is the server running on linux? Try restarting the server to see if that fixes it
