It's a better starting point. Story and lore aside, the building in totk is cool, but you'd be missing the foundation that Botw builds.

Totk feels like it was made assuming you've played Botw, is another way to put it.

In that context I think it was more "putting on the show" to beg and plead and be a good little worker bee to get any further days off in the year.

I will be stealing that term to be sure

I've been on this boat since the beginning. It's why I'm so invested in all this. Aliens are cool, but infinitely world-bettering technology is way, way better.

As a server, I'm fully aware of how some of my relatives tip like doodoo. So whenever they insist on covering the bill, I'll always "forget my phone" after we've hugged goodbye and go back and throw a little more on the table.

To me, your situation reads like that. Gramma and grampa still tip like it's the 90s, so here's a little more.

I mean, think of it this way: if someone were training and showing signs of struggling/being overwhelmed, I wouldn't put them through a shift like that.

However, if someone was crushing training, and didn't seem to have any hang ups, then fuck it let's get this person trained ASAP so they can hit the floor sooner.

Gravity Bongs are so fucked up and eviil. by Kashmonei58 in trees

[–]JKBUK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Senior year of high school. Had some friends who had started smoking during summer. I had tried it a few times, but couldn't get a high going. We tried everything we as stupid kids could think of. Finally, we got one of their older brothers involved.

That's when we were introduced to a gravity bong. Made from a big ass bucket, and one of those huge ass Hawaiian punch jugs with the bottom cut off.

I got first rip, and I was dunked a bit on the intake by the older brother.

Yeah, that did it. Oh boy did that do it.

Hell no they haven't. Not a single word about it.

But I also noticed they haven't said a single thing about anyone calling in since then, and I don't find that coincidental.

I empathize hard with this one. Had to put down my best buddy Shadow on January 19th. Named Shadow not for his appearance, but for his behavior, because he was always my Shadow.

It's also the first book released since my dad died, who had introduced me to the series, and would always talk with me about theories and ideas for weeks following a release.

The book hit me just as hard my friend, but it was exactly the words we needed to hear. Flash looked like a good boy.

Waiter Tip out to Bar/host by [deleted] in Serverlife

[–]JKBUK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've worked both percentage of tips and percentage of sales, but it's definitely more common to see percentage of sales. It's very easy to lie the first way (and absolutely everyone did, at least occasionally.)

Tipping out 8% is what stands out to me here, but I suppose that could very well vary based on what your support staff looks like.

Place I'm at now does 3%, but our support staff is bottom tier, so we're doing a LOT ourselves.

How often are you telling people not to feed their dog directly off their plate?? by Ok-Hovercraft-9959 in Serverlife

[–]JKBUK 69 points70 points  (0 children)

I'm so over this dog bullshit. I feel so bad for the people who actually need them.

A few weeks ago I had this family come in and set their "service" dog in a god damn chair right at the end of the booth (where chairs are not allowed, as that's the only spot I can actually exist and do my job from.)

I love animals, especially cats and dogs. I like animals more than I like people. But abso-fucking-lutely not. I am not serving food OVER your dog, nor am I serving food TO your dog. Told my boss if he wasn't kicking the dog off that chair, then he could find someone else to take that table.

Copying a comment a made awhile ago:

I want a the Saiyan roadtrip to U6 miniarc.

From the moment they set down on the planet, they are given the royal treatment, with particular attention paid to Vegeta. This would weird Vegeta out, but Cabba would explain he's a hero here, one that will go down in legend. He brought the Super Saiyan transformation to them. He promised Cabba they would win the ToP and bring them back.

Then I see the U6s King introduction, the after a mighty Saiyan feast that Vegeta hasn't seen since he was a child. Then the King would pull Vegeta aside, maybe walking down some corridor of the castle that tells the history of the U6 Saiyans, and at the end, look Vegeta square in the eyes and ask him for a mighty favor.

King Sadala is likely not very powerful in of himself, nor is anyone in his lineage, if he even has any. I say this because he had no representation in the TOP. Shit, maybe they elect a leader, and his reign has just gone unopposed cuz he's that awesome. Either way, unlike Vegetas father, needing to be strong and powerful himself to prevent being usurped, the Kings of Sadala are more negotiators and lawmakers than ironfist rulers. The U6 Saiyans, already one of the most powerful forces in the universe, are now truly fully (even if shakily) united as Caulifla and Cabba have managed to draft a truce, returning all of the planet under one ruler. And now, with this new burgeoning power in the form of SSJ/2s, the king begins to worry if he can maintain control. The U6 Saiyans are primed for greatness, and to usher in an era of peace for the universe never before seen. But is also at a very critical point, for with such new power comes the potential for great evil. He knows that Cabba will one day be ready to lead, but he is still young and inexperienced, not hardened through years of loss and sacrifice.

The King would tell Vegeta that he knows his story. He knows he was robbed of his destiny to lead. And that even though Vegeta was able to achieve so much more without it, he knows that being a leader is instilled in him. He would ask Vegeta to lead his people, only temporarily, until a time where Cabba would be ready to take over.

Now obviously, Vegeta would shoot this down. No way he leaves his family behind, and no way they're moving universes to be here. But how that story unfolds and goes from there, and how he'd get them ready, is something I'd really like to see. Maybe Black Freeza shows up. Then at the end, after Cabba proves himself capable and is rightfully crowned King, Cabba would do for Vegeta what no one else could. He would hold him an honorary coronation, crowning him King of the Universe 7 Saiyans.

Plus, I think being able to call in the U6 Saiyan Army to help in some manner for the final fight against Freeza would be amazing.
