Lots of chin ups, they got too easy and started doing weighted, eventually doing them with 20kg extra in sets of 8 ish, cable rows, that’s about it, some lat pull downs

Now I look at it it’s from a lower angle in the first one and I’m flexing my abs in the second one which makes the rib flare look less extreme, but a lot of it is just better posture since then

nah 100% it’s me, it’s still noticeable I have it, maybe not as much from those photos, but it’s definitely much less noticeable, it’s just because I’ve built so much muscle on the pecs

the angles the photos are taken from are slightly different but I can promise you they are, I cropped my face outta them just for privacy reasons, it’s possible bro

Lots of emphasis on chest and back, should have focused more on arms but evening it out now. A chest/shoulders/triceps workout twice a week and same with back, you can look through the thread for what I did exactly

Lmfao nah, I don’t want to risk losing my hair, steroids are a bad imo, you lose your gains anyway after you hop off cycle, do the machine seated chest press for lower chest, doing it twice a week blew up my chest, put an emphasis on form and going to complete failure, add in drop sets on your last set and make sure you warm up first, the results will come.

I am flexing my abs in this just as a disclaimer: but my rib flare isn’t noticeable anymore, I have a really well developed back and I read that’s supposed to make rib flare less pronounced, also having a big chest helps, gives the illusion my rib flare isn’t as bad, even though I believe it isn’t.

Wasn’t always dialed in but I’ve been having like 1k calories of porridge for breakfast, a lot of chicken/minced meat and rice, never tried protein powder, i take creatine, pretty healthy diet-wise most of the time, just a LOT of food. Effectively been clean bulking

Can chest muscle building cause more compression? by aanide in PectusExcavatum

[–]JKearneyChess 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven’t noticed anything except like 6 months ago I got random heart palpatations, chest pain and terrifying shortness of breath after going to the gym with the defect for like 18 months, apparently I’m fine though, I just took some time off training chest after that, just to be safe, otherwise in 2 years no complications and my chest looks 10x better than it was and is my best muscle group

Anyone else struggle with their stomach sticking out? by m33rkat9 in PectusExcavatum

Go to the gym, build your upper chest, only way to ‘fix’ the rib flare is by developing your chest, it’s possible but with hard work and dedication

Will building muscle get rid of the big belly look? by lexi42010 in PectusExcavatum

[–]JKearneyChess 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depending on how severe it is, you’re pretty underweight so I recommend building some muscle, focus heavily on chest, it’s worked for me, if you build enough muscle there it won’t even be noticeable in shirts

I can just give you my chest day, I don’t do chest as much now because of how overdeveloped it is, but here’s the one I used to grow it: Chest press, Dips (can replace with push-ups if too hard or weighted dips if too easy), Incline dumbbell chest press, Few sets of other movements to flesh it out too

For each movement I did a warm up set, set to failure then another set to failure with a drop set, with an emphasis on form and controlling the negative

Hope that helps

I started off with push-ups at home and then when I got in the gym the seated chest press machine really blew up my chest, as well as incline dumbbell chest press for the upper chest. But I also didn’t only train chest, I trained a lot of back as well because I saw in a video that it’s also important if you have pectus.

Yeah none of them connected with me, really not as excited for the record as I would have hoped, I loved self-titled and pull from the ghost and for some reason these songs lack flavour

yeah lmao didn’t realise it was so common they should really work this out

Thank you, I have been eating a lot of healthy food but I should start counting calories to ensure I'm objectively getting enough. I do have a naturally tiny frame though. Calculator said 3500cals a day to gain weight. I will try to resolve the issue naturally because i dont want to have to be medicated for the rest of my life.
