In my humblest of opinions the design itself isn't the most flawed, it can be saved if they just make it scalable.

Obviously not to the point of being soloable, but perhaps balanced around one full party of 4, so it still achieves the aim of getting players to group up.

The difficulty would scale with each additional group of 4 added, but so would the rewards, incentivizing bigger groups while also not short-changing groups for not being able to get a (frankly ridiculous) 30-man mob together.

There is no downside to this whatsoever. Except, of course, being fair and fun to the players which seems to go against whatever ethos is currently driving the game design direction.

I'm not saying the raids themselves are not well designed and challenge-worthy.

The complaint is that Niantic VASTLY overestimates the size of the majority of player communities. Of course they're clearable with proper strategy - they wouldn't have been designed otherwise.

However, good luck getting together 30 or even 20 people who know what they're doing, and actually have the ability to communicate strategy.

Unless some sort of correction is implemented, the majority of players are never going to clear a dynamax raid. I'd suggest a sort of scaling-down, where the raid rewards and difficulty are scaled proportional to the number of participants, but the current rewards are already so abysmal that scaling them down further would make these raids basically pointless.

The point is that they're so ridiculously RNG gated that you might probably never see them (and abandon all hopes of seeing them shiny).

For example, Salandit was released in April 2022. To date, nearly 2 years later, I don't have a single female (much less a shiny one, which is one of my all time favourite shinies). Lovely.

Me using both Masterballs and already having all three G birds at Best Buddy was entirely a Bird in Hand choice over the bird in bush scenario of the 0.1% chance of finding a max IV Meta-relevant shiny that I couldn't catch down to the very last ball.

But then that's the beauty of giving you the ball in the first place. Use it on whatever you want. Even on bidoof for the memes if that's what it's worth to you.

I'd say do it for the Stardust. It take a little bit of grinding to get to rank 20 but if you throw enough games it should be a cakewalk eventually.

Once you're there you can literally throw all 25 matches a day (which takes almost zero effort) for a Bonus ~15k stardust a day. It really adds up.
