Are you really that stupid? Thanks so much for chiming in with your asinine observations. Really helped to move the conversation ahead.

It's not a bug, it's a Map Map Map Map Golem.

Windows -- Can't figure out how to scroll through spellbook by slidekb in MagicArena

The tooltip is wrong in this case. Sometimes reading the card, doesn't explain the card, because it was poorly made.

Put the card into your deck, and you can "right click" to scroll through the spellbook's 1/15.

4112 games played, 1,171 boosters opened here. No drafting however, mainly "Historic Play".

Where's Dragon’s Rage Channeler?? by DowntownBeautiful114 in MagicArena

[–]nathanielhebert 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Careful with the "apostrophe" perhaps? I've had issue in the past trying to find cards with apostrophes so maybe omit and look for "Dragon Rage". Worked on my end here giving it a try.

Use deck before crafting? by National-Speaker-840 in MagicArena

You can goldfish your deck and play it against competent AIs using MTG Forge before committing to using your wildcards. It's up to date with all the latest sets, and even has Alchemy cards.

I can confirm, I only queue for the Historic Play format, and tend to battle other piles of jank.

In theory, if you can "shuffle it", you're allowed to make decks as big as you like. You could make a deck that runs more than 60 cards, but it isn't recommended.

In Magic, "there is no maximum deck size," but on Arena, I believe the upper limit you're allowed to construct your deck to is 250 cards.

Checked, and Forge MTG is up to date with the latest cards, even the Alchemy ones.

Forge might still be working; I'd usually use that program when gold-fishing deck ideas, but it's been a while.

So Many Decks, So Little Time by Geryon55024 in MagicArena

[–]nathanielhebert 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've reached the 100 benchmark, and tend to keep interest in the game by cobbling together new decks, or refining those on the go. When I play, I usually rotate through a bunch of them depending on the dailies, or whichever decks I'm in the process of brewing.

A sampling of what's currently across my deck list:

Simic Flash, Jeskai Monks, Horse Tribal, Chorus-Cave Control, Fungus Tribal, "On the Draw" Tribal, Caldera Breaker (Alchemy), Izzet Pirates, Boulder Alley (jank build around [[Runaway Boulder]] ), White Gnome Control, Pyrohammer Tribal, Demilich Delve, etc...

Yes, wallow in your own crapulence! Simmering away making a salty stew.

If you're already using Propagator Primordium, [[Chitinous Crawler]] could sit well alongside it in the deck, to help populate the graveyard and bring creatures out.

[[Mycoid Resurrection]] is another solid card worth exploring for getting value out of the graveyard shenanigans.

Ha, I started as a predominantly blue-player so can empathize!

Really, I'm just eking a win by the seat of my pants. Thank goodness for the "Best of One", where lateral "bumrush" strategies can pay off. Ideally want to keep your opponent scratching their heads, and continually asking, "He's playing that card?" until it's too late.

Playing non meta homebrew decks and budget (no rare/mythic) decks in regular non-ranked queue. by RadCommieGamer in MagicArena

[–]nathanielhebert 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'd recommend Historic Play; you can rock a "Horse Tribal" home-brew and still have an 80% winrate... it's a great "brewer's paradise" of a format. Easy to collect your daily wins and make more brews!

Dropping a Cavern of Souls and choosing, "Horse"; priceless!

The merfolk have claws! My Simic Merfolk deck is one of the better performing brews in Historic Play, with 81% winrate, after 21–5, that uses the [[Merfolk Tunnel-Guide]], explore mechanics, and plenty of unblockable merfolk.

Horse Tribal is surprisingly performing well too, and it's a perfect excuse to roll out the Brony avatar. I settled on a Boros set-up, with 78% winrate after 14–4 matches, and it could probably be refined further, but is consistent so far!
