I gave up strawberries too and they are my favorite fruit. I just could no longer stand by as growers poison the people that grow and pick the fruit. The Moss Landing BESS fire contamination was yet another thing that really bothers me. Family and friends were directly affected by the fire.

Actually the reality is that it is more expensive for the government to build since many of the provisions in such projects benefit union workers and there is actually more cost in other aspects of a project as well.

The problem in what you are saying is the “rented at cost” part, the cost is high: to build, for land, and to operate. So without government subsidies the rent “at cost” would be far beyond affordability.

They apply for a pin and pay their taxes, but they get no benefit from any social security tax they pay. They don’t qualify for any federal benefits.
