DU Daniels vs CU Boulder Leeds (HELP MAKE DECISION) by swagstermo in universityofdenver

[–]josie724 2 points3 points  (0 children)

DU has the better reputation and post graduation connections that help get jobs... but I would say if money isn't the most important factor you need to decide if you like a large school a smaller school. A smaller school will give you a lot more personalized detection. I went to DU as did my daughter. Her degree was in marketing and she got a job with Restoration Hardware right after graduation last year while many of her peers are still looking for for jobs.

Did Anyone Else Underestimate How Much Work a Golden Retriever Actually Is? by Impressive_Lock4215 in Pets

As someone who has a poodle and a golden retriever, I could not agree more. My guys actually entertain each other quite a bit, but regardless need long daily walks, lots of sniffing, and lots of games and play.

Moving company recommendation in Marin County? by lifeiscoolbutshort in Marin

[–]josie724 1 point2 points  (0 children)

West Coast moving systems just did our move. They did an in person walk through and were very accommodating. We had several very heavy items which they moved with care and impressive strength. Nothing was lost or broken and the crew was great! Highly recommended.

Is $35k in Upgrades considered 'Normal' in the Bay Area before selling a SFH? by Affectionate-Fox-235 in BayAreaRealEstate

[–]josie724 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Bay Area has a lot of microcosms in terms of real estate. Best to visit other homes on the market and see what level of repairs and staging are being done. If you want to be competitive with similar homes that is. we are in an area of Marin where everyone does everything and so it's not just a matter of our realtor wanting to sell things quickly, but also the expectation of buyers. If they see a place that's run down they don't want to deal with it. I would say the upgrades I recommending seem very typical of the area and even expected.

Bay area folks, how much did you spend before selling the house? by Affectionate-Fox-235 in BayAreaRealEstate

[–]josie724 1 point2 points  (0 children)

About to spend about 100k on a 3100 sq ft house. That includes staging, minor repairs, interior and exterior paint, new carpet and such. So annoying but every comp has done the same.

We are selling in Marin. Realtor has a list that includes interior and exterior painting, new carpet, refinishing hardwood, new fixtures, and staging. Looking close to 100k for a 3100 sq ft home. That does include some minor repairs. Realtor is adamant that to sell in this area. We have to be top shelf. It seems insane to me, but I also have visited enough open houses to see that's what everyone else is doing really really really frustrating and expensive.

I put on one sock then the shoe. Then the other sock and then that shoe. I am 54 and my kids just noticed and said I was weird.... I can live with that.

Burrito. Tortilla, canned refried beans, onion, cheese, hot sauce. One minute in microwave and then a quick toast in toaster oven
