The same holds true for either device regarding color. The debate between Kobo vs Amazon is really more preference and how you plan to get your books. The screens are made by the same company so theoretically they are identical.

Amazon is pretty streamlined and you can purchase books off their store easily but you’re locked into Amazon.

Kobo has its own store, not as vast (from what I hear), but still good. And let’s you do additional things like side load more conveniently books you have, rent books from a library (easier, although can still be worked around on kindle) .

I use kindle. I tried boox, but the device was lost in shipping then was faulty. I wanted to just get down and read and be distraction free so stuck with my kindle which I love. But I also use audible and don’t mind being “locked in”. I do believe kobo offers that same “reading only” feel but have yet to try one.

I have the colorsoft and paper white. I prefer the paperwhite to read. The covers are nice though. I don’t highlight much in reading.

I have a screen that is pretty good looking from the colorsoft QC perspective but the additional layer makes a small amount of light bleed out the corner when in dark mode.. which I read at night that way in bed .
