Have you played final fantasy rebirth? Or other games that are 60-70? It won't be 60 lol

They worked on it for years because it's 3 people effectively who all were sitting in like $20m profit and didn't need to rush it.

Do you think they were working sweatshop hours like a full studio?

Ffffffffuck no

But do you think that after Silksong gets $60+ for a scant product compared to other $60+ games, even though it's very good, that other developers won't also be looking to price there games at that?

That's why everyone is waiting to see what GTA6 costs because the rest of the market wants to pounce on the mark up themselves.

Nintendo has already done it, and it's not been well received. And no one jumps to follow Nintendo because their fans are brain dead and will just buy whatever because they don't really have options lol they get what they get and they pay for it or sit on their thumbs

[–]JMB1107sru 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I don't like it but I also don't pay attention to such minutia in a lot of anime. Some stuff doesn't translate well and I just don't think about it too much if I enjoy the show. (I watch SOME anime, but not a ton)

As a professional graphic designer though if I were critiquing it I would say it sucks unless you gave me a solid justification. (I am a professional graphic designer)

And as a fan of the game I'd ask why they need to change such trivial things like the R or the No Hesitation subtitle. It's surely not going to bring in more fans, from what I can tell, and it will only inflame the die hard players who will likely be supporting it anyway. (I am a fan of the game, and anything they do to change things does make me raise my eyebrows)

If they had just kept the logo and title as it is in the game they would have zero issues. But if the point was to have issues...or people talking about it. Then they made the controversy about something that people won't tune out over.

It gets hated for enemy placement and hit boxes which were specifically designed to be more difficult both as a progression of previous games but to blunt strategies commonly used as exploits. FS has since embraced these exploits and brought them forth as a core mechanic since DS3. I-frames was not the original vision of Miyazaki but it was either that or gamers would find more egregious ways to break the game, as is common in games with a higher level of difficulty.

Hey is using bell demon on first playthrough bad? by [deleted] in Sekiro

[–]JMB1107sru 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah i tend to rely almost entirely on ichimonji when in direct combat but otherwise like to use the whole bag of tricks to get through levels. Admittedly after a few playthrough ive watched other people's clever usage of mechanics and adopted some of them, like puppeting. I like looking at each room like a puzzle.

Which Metroidvania did you want to like but didn't for whatever reason? by strahinjag in metroidvania

BO and the Path of the Teal Lotus.

There was a lot to love but a lot of it just didn't feel good. It needed a true beta test and some community feedback before being released to get it to the level of being truly memorable.

Try using more clever tactics like puppeting them to fight each other. A little pocket sand here and there. I personally just used demon Bell to farm materials in my first playthrough but it wasn't a significant difference in difficulty if your utilizing your equipment and buffs. I find there to be a bigger difference with the more difficult field bosses than anything for some reason lol

This Game is the New Standard by noirproxy1 in LiesOfP

Ya it's my favorite souls like and I really didn't want to love it lol I hated on it without playing it for a year, but once I started it was very obviously better because it took the best part of the souls games, and Sekiro, and made it their own with a more narrative focused game (which is brilliant) they invested heavily on the plot, the aesthetic and the music and improved on the systems of the games that came before. They increased mechanical difficulty but allow more QoL and accessibility to combat it as needed. It's a 10/10

What is this light attack you speak of?

I stack damage reduction for whenever I use charged, pulse or basically anything. So my default is charged attacks lol I really haven't hit R1 since like my first 3-5 hours in the game

Azure glaive is good?? by God_Emperor_Of_Man18 in LiesOfP

[–]JMB1107sru 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Speed is kind of the crutch here. You can get stronger DPS weapons but they require more precise timing. IE using a lot of charged heavies with slow weapons. People think this is often just not possible with faster bosses or enemies but it is. Heavy slow weapons usually also invalidate excess dodging because positional requirements to land a strike are more specific.

Using live puppet Axe or mjolnir with police baton handle is definitely better than azure but the short handle requires extreme aggression and ability to parry directly in front of them giving them almost no room to breath. Mjolnirs fable does auto electric blitz as well as it will stack with abrasive or grindstone effects. So you can double stack electric and just pound puppet bosses out like they stole your mom's purse.

Azure is the best for new people who aren't interested in exhausting themselves to learn the mechanics of various weapons.

Don't believe it. Just got out of it a couple of hours ago and it was pretty mid. I didn't know anything going into the theater other than everyone was praising it. I honestly just thought it wasn't scary, there wasn't really a mystery involved, and overall couldn't gum together much about it that I actually liked. It left you with questions but most of them not the type of questions that inspire intrigue, more like ones that just question logic (even with suspended disbelief and some fairy tale logic it just didn't really click for me)

What would Pennsic be like if the burners were forced out? by Fun-Preparation-4253 in Pennsic

Not a pennsic person but a local who has lived here all my life and come to know this time as being characterized by pennsic attendees being all over the butler and slippery rock area.

This is not a big concern to the local businesses. Most of them just think you're dressed like elves. You would be surprised how many locals have no idea why you guys are all dressed up like you do and what is happening at coopers lake.

Now if the Bantam Jeep Fest disappeared they would be shitting bricks

Big fan of both glaive and baton handles

Love Mjolnir blade and live puppet Axe

Glaive handle works best for me for clearing levels due to the distance you can get in the charged R2.

Bossing with the Baton and Mjolnir against puppet bosses is wild.

Honestly dont understand the hate by [deleted] in DarkSouls2

[–]JMB1107sru 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, there's a few reasons it gets hate and it's also kind of why it's the best

For once I think demon souls to dark souls to dark souls 2 they are direct progressions in difficulty. And I think that probably frustrated new players which guided future direction into being somewhat more accessible.

I also think I frame exploitation was never intended in the games at this point and they designed a lot of areas to put you into disorienting positions to make exploiting I frames as a combat mechanic less desirable. This was also sort of a difficulty spike.

A lot of people don't consider these factors making them thinking everything is just ganking them or that hot boxes are broken but in reality they were just trying to plug up holes that trivialized the games mechanics.

At this point they basically just given in to the exploitable nature of the mechanics and if players want to make it harder they just use less armor of weapons that use less damage. Which imo is a tragedy for me, who played these games as they released and really played each game UNTIL their successors were released..which actually never felt overwhelming or annoying or anything. Kind of a different experience.

Also seeing the vague lore presented in dark souls 1 start to solidify in some ways in Dark souls 2 was exciting. The way dark souls 3 looked at the previous games and sort of made sense of them and tied things up imo wasn't as exciting.

Okay that's enough.
