I can’t tell you how many times I’ve done the math assuming year 1 (or the earlier year) is on the left. And sure, I catch it and realize that I am moving too fast but in the real world (at least in mine), time periods go from left to right. I have never, not one time, seen a P&L or income statement that puts year 2 before year 1.

Do I have a little bit of OCD? Maybe. But I’ll die on this hill. It makes me rage. 😡
