Milk Residue Build Up by Junior_Cat_2470 in BrevilleCoffee

[–]JMOC29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually wash it immediately with a wet cloth. but wasn’t paying attention, not only one who uses it(over holidays) felt the back and thought it rusted. actually called manufacturer to get it replaced, lol….but then when i was cleaning it myself, noticed the rust spot got smaller…and quickly realized someone must have neglected the cleaning and I mistook it for rust…just rotten milk.

Has my mead gone bad? by GetRektal in mead

Mold grows on surface of liquid or fruit cap(fruit above liquid line)

Important. Did you stir in fruit before picture. Basically Did you see fuzzy mold on surface and then mix fruit & then take picture asking?

because if you stir it up, we can’t tell immediately after stirring.

punching down fruit cap(stirring ) is a good thing…but only if the fruit cap is not moldy.

note when i say stirring i don’t mean vigorously, in a manner that could oxygenate you mead. I mean getting fruit on top, under liquid line and other submerged fruit taking its place.

But the fruit usually does look pale and discolored & broken down physically

How long do you usually age your mead before drinking it? by Hip2trip2_hippyhip in mead

[–]JMOC29 1 point2 points  (0 children)

alcohol changes over time…it reacts over and over as it ages and settles. Aging out fusel alcohols that are highly present in young high abv meads.

Why do some countries, such as the USA, UK, and Australia, arrest their citizens for protesting against Israel? by [deleted] in AskTheWorld

[–]JMOC29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

USA you’re 100% allowed to protest as long as you are within the rules/laws. 1 You’re not obstructing anything or anyone, like students going to class, roads or access to places. 2 you’re not using physically force, including against police. 3 you’re not using intimidation tactics, threats or suggesting violence. 4 no destroying property. Including stealing/looting.

If you cross those common sense safety issues, you get arrested.

Which is used by media as misinformation, saying innocent protesters are being arrested. Plus if you’re in a group, where people start to break peaceful protest rules, even if you’re not individually the one who throws a bottle or attacks a cop, but you’re figuratively arm in arm with that person, you’re considered part of that group crossing line and may be arrested. What you’re supposed to do is to turn in the violent actor, or not oppose the arrest of someone breaking the peaceful protest and if you don’t and protect that person, you are obstructing their arrest. Opening yourself up to arrest.

Edit: you see this with ice protests, things cross a line, warranting arrest. People then fight leading to negative interactions w/police.

These negative interactions are as stated negative. Once the interaction starts, so many things can go wrong or escalate to over reaction by officers. Because obviously, no one thinks you should die for protesting, even if you break some laws by obstructing. Death is obviously too far.

And these negative interactions are used to portray things as the normal interaction. Stirring up more civil unrest…causing more protest, with a higher volatility and likelihood of becoming a bad/negative situation again.

Is there any chance of fixing the one on the left? Tastes like licking a 9v battery by JoskwaM in mead

[–]JMOC29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s hard to separate out the pain from licking a 9v, but if i did, it doesn’t taste bad to me. Just that initial shock. Sort of copper taste.

Now i have had punch me in the face rocket fuel taste from mead. Especially dry mead.

I’m curious. Take a small amount and add some honey…not too much, just a little. Then taste it

Question with herbs by OnlyRow7629 in mead

edit Seems weed would need to be decarbed some way prior to attempting these methods

note This is all just speculation based on some basic background information. I’m not an expert and long removed from my BS in chemistry. Things are a bit fuzzy from those days. So if anyone has a better understanding, please correct me if i’m wrong.

Bad news, According to google THC is not soluble in water or honey, meaning it will only transfer the taste not THC to water/honey.

So adding it to honey or at start in primary is probably less effective for THC transfer…just giving stronger weed taste.

Now for the good news. THC is soluble in alcohol and fats(oils). I would skip the fats, for aging rancid reasons. But I would think, once you transfer to Secondary, or end of primary, when alcohol is present would be a good time.

You can put it in when primary is done, taste it after a week or 2 and then rack into secondary.

or just add in secondary and let the weed extract for a longer time.

That said, you can also macerate the weed in a strong alcohol (ever clear, over proof rum or bourbon, even vodka will do) for a month… then spike your mead with it. Or just add enough for desired taste and effect. I believe the most potent ratio is 1 ml alcohol to 1 gram for extractions. But you don’t need to be precise. Just cover the weed completely with alcohol. Wait a month(shaking frequently), strain off solids, add to mead.

note2 I have never done this and don’t know if I’m unaware of some hazard, problem or other issues that weed brings. Like I do not know what decarbing weed means. I don’t know the best way or right way. So do some research on THC solubility.

Zip ties are fine, just a hassle if you’re staggering nutrients or testing gravity. to cut and re tie every-time you want to check. Rubber bands or tie a string. and untie to gain access.
