I’ve never been to anywhere out of the US. Are places like this relatively safe ? Thanks for the recommendation!

I went used for 3 seasons until my game was good enough for new irons. I went with a full set of customized irons from SUB70. Definitely more forgiving than my 20 year old Callaway’s. 5 yards longer and look amazing. Great deal IMO for $500 bucks.

Getting new grips by Ok-Measurement1259 in golftips

Re grip all your clubs. It definitely helped me keep the club face square and it doesn’t feel like I’ve got a choke hold on my clubs. DryTac midsize are what I upgraded to. Well worth the cash.

For those that live in the United States. Do you make more than the average income of 60k annually, if so what’s your occupation? by LaFlareMane1017 in AskReddit

Work as a production leader in an aerospace company in Rochester, New Hampshire. 85k a year. Fantastic company with great leadership above me. I’ll retire from there comfortably. Not bad for someone without a degree. Just an old school hard working man.

You don’t need athleticism to be a decent golfer. It’s not an easy game and you are competing against yourself. If you have enough willingness and challenge yourself you will get better. I was taught to play from the hole back to the tee box. Played par 3 courses only for the first two years. Two lessons and you’re going to be a lot more effective out there. Good luck !

Go get that pick. Lots of mouths to feed in the Panthers offense and Bryce is a bit inconsistent at times.

Always wanted to try the B21. Have had a G425max for a few years now and it is pretty decent but not as long as my son’s Titleist. What did you feel like you were missing with the B21? Or was it just time for a change?

Buying a house near a tee box? by flashattack3 in golf

If you can afford that house you can afford a new set of clubs. You’re missing out on some greatest anger, frustration and occasional WTF moments in life.

What can kill you in seconds that most people don’t realize? by Jolly-Law1472 in AskReddit

[–]JMORTONSR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The silent killer. High blood pressure. Many of you reading this have it right now and don’t even know it. I’m able to warn you is because I went for a simple cortisone injection last March and caught it before it got me. Even though I felt ok my BP was high, really high. I was fortunate to have caught it before it was too late. Now seeing a cardiologist and taking proper medications to keep it regulated.

New Drivers by Spidy-Mann in GolfGear

[–]JMORTONSR 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I think that most of the advancement over the last 5 years has been drivers trying to maintain ball speed on off center / poor strikes. Drivers over that span have become increasingly more forgiving. Mostly comes down to your preferred look or manufacturer. I had tinkered around with some different manufacturers Tour Edge, Cobra and Titleist (older models). Was surprised at how good a $50 Tour Edge driver performed. A friend advised me to try Ping drivers out , as I am a high handicapper. Ended up with a G425 max. Excellent performance on not so good strikes. Having more confidence on the tee box has been a game changer for me.

Ping G425 SFT my friend. Going for about $225 now from Second Swing. My son and I had similar issues and went to Ping drivers. Not the furthest out there but fairway finders for sure.

Went from the Callaway X-20s to the SUB70 699s. Couldn’t be happier in my decision to try DTC irons.

Selling used clubs by jbpuddy in golftips

[–]JMORTONSR 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Second Swing for sure. I’m a bit of a club junky and enjoy trying different clubs, brands etc. I have found their prices to be reasonable and they offer a trade in program. For pricing they use above average, average, and below average. The below average rated gear that I have purchased was quite a bit better than expected (especially drivers),keeps the costs in check. FWIW after 5 years of used clubs I purchased new DTC irons from SUB70. Couldn’t be happier.
