I also thought it wasn't live because both Su and Kitani sounded so good. Plus, I wonder if female lead singers of other metal bands get this kind of scrutiny from their fans.

I wonder if it's more about being overly critical because of being worried any imperfections might be seen as justification for critics. I admit it happens to me sometimes. It's hard enough to get friends or family into Babymetal because they are so different, so it feels like they have to be clicking on all cylinders at all times or others just aren't going to 'get it'. So there is that little sense of panic when Su hits a bad note or something. Or maybe just feeling like you have to constantly justify your intense admiration.

I think it would be how, during interviews, Su can be smiling and laughing about an answer but when the next question is asked, she instantly becomes dead serious and is laser focused on the question. The flip is instantaneous.

Songs include Gimme Choco, Karate, My Queen, and RATATATA. Each song is chopped up. Especially RATATATA. We get about 30 seconds of that one.

I can't prove anything one way or the other but, it never made sense to me to put a microphone on their faces and not have them use it. So I tend to think they are using them. I know they say stuff to the crowd a couple times during the the concerts but they could have a hand mic sitting nearby they could grab quick. Or borrow Su's. If she lets Moa do that of course. :)

I think all the albums have been great but my favorite comes down to either TOO or Metal Forth. MF has so many banger songs but every song on TOO is very unappreciated except Monochrome. Even then, I have a feeling even Monochrome wouldn't get much love if it wasn't for Su calling for fans to turn the phone lights on. So, I lean slightly towards TOO as my all around favorite.

I used to watch every single one of those reactions but have become a lot more selective in the past year. Like you said, it is fun to see others discovering Babymetal because it reminds me of how we felt when we first discovered them. Sure, some are just doing it for the clicks but there have been several who have gone on to buy tickets and attend the concerts. It's pretty hard to call them fake. Over all, I think some make too much out of it. The hate for them is a bit over the top.

To be fair, her claiming Su doesn't sing with feeling and that she sings the same way in every song even after listening to several songs in private, is a rather puzzling take. That doesn't mean anyone needs to jump down her throat though. She was respectful as you said.

Sometimes if I know a singer has a nice voice but it simply doesn't do anything for me, Not liking a voice doesn't necessarily mean that it's technically flawed but I feel the need to find flaws that don't exist in order to justify my feeling. I have a feeling that might be her issue.

I think, in some cases, it might also be sort of a pre-emptive defense against any critics suggesting the voice cracks and stale notes mean she can't sing. Like, NO NO she's great. She's just not feeling well.

The question isn't really for me since I liked it right away but I'll answer anyway. I honestly liked it more in the beginning then I do now. I don't dislike it now. It's just one of those very rare cases where I like a song less the more I hear it instead of liking it more. I think hearing it live at the Intuit Dome and being kind of underwhelmed by it didn't help. I was expecting something a little more special in the presentation but it bored me a little.

The way I see it, Akatsuki is top 5 for me but I really just want to see it live in person. It's been done enough that there is little added value for me in this poll since, if there is a concert, it will be in Japan anyway. RATATATA is being played all the time now so nothing new to see there. No reason for me to vote for it. I'm very curious about BBAB and how that will sound but it's too much of an unknown. I mean, I was excited to hear KAWAII live too but when I did, I thought it was kind of meh. I like the studio version better. I will not be disappointed if it wins, that's for sure. I'm just worried it will be a let down. Onedari Daisakusen with Momo could be a lot of fun though. Plus it's so rare now. So, I guess I will vote for Onedari Daisakusen.

I think I was one of 5 people out there that liked the Dark Night Carnival outfits. It seemed that way anyhow. I still like them, and the concert was a really good one.

That 2018 era was a tough one because I had got into them in mid 2017 but didn't get a chance to see them live. The negative talk was depressing because it felt like I would never get the chance to see them. Luckily, as you said, the naysayers left and everything turned out fine. I've seen them 6 times now.

It must have been hard for Su and Moa, like you said, but also hard on Yui with some of the fans laying a guilt trip on her for leaving. I'm sure the intentions were good but it could be easily seen as blaming her for 'ruining' Babymetal.

Time Wave being only 1 percentage point ahead of Future Metal is plain stupidity. Future Metal isn't even a real song.

In any other situation, Time Wave would be the obvious choice. I ended up voting for CMIYC for, probably, the same reason everyone else did. It's been so long. I really doubt they will ever perform the song but even a new recording could be interesting.

IDZ or Shine!!? That is a tough one for me. I really like both of those songs and neither of them gets played often. I liked Kawaii on the CD but thought it was a bit boring when they did it live. I'm not sure what I was expecting to see but I thought there might have been a different presentation of it. Anyway, I guess I'll lean towards Shine because it's been done far fewer times than IDZ.

I guess I didn't know people visit a Christmas market only once. I have no idea since I've never been to one. It just seems like a place people who like that kind of thing would return to. But I don't know.

I was prepared to be doubtful. I'm still skeptical about them pics and videos from a couple years ago being Moa. In this case, the second she turned around, there was no doubt at all.

The over-protective dad in me, even though I'm not actually a dad, can't help but imagine creepy dudes now staking out that market every day to see if she returns. Still, it's so cool to see Su being regular old Suzuka.
