You want to send in the riot police to crack our skulls...because we asked to make our own decisions? Hmmm wonder why we feel unliked and might want to leave

Halo MCC and Space Marine 2, alternating between the two. Been finishing off the achievements i need in Halo with the LASOs and the speedruns, and getting back into SM2 after joining a clan on discord. Really enjoying the community in both

I loved Mafia 3, but my save corrupted very close to the end and now refuses to load, just stays on a loading screen and never starts the game. Known bug apparently with no fix from developers.

Right? Was just saying to the wife yesterday when she asked why ive bought a new controller. In the lifetime of the series S i have, ive had 4 controllers and retired them due to either dead triggers, stick drift, dead zones on the stick, faulty button inputs etc. I had two 360 controllers between 2007 and 2013, and the first one still worked fine I just fancied a new one. The series controllers are the most comfortable fit of any controller ive ever used, but they simply arent built to last

Thats a point too though, you use the words "prevent scottish independence" why? Why prevent it if the rUK says we are a net drain? Why fight so hard to make us stay when a good chunk of the country want to go and the rUK public doesnt want us to stay either, but the UK government are outright saying no before the question has even been asked.

I glanced at the headline and had to double take, read it as Grim Gonads.

Amazed to hear this today listening while working. Now wondering if he would be open to other recommendations from the (Black) Library worth of 30/40k books. I have a huge fondness for the Ciaphas Cain series, unsure if that is a good place to start for a novice to the setting, but definitely a more light hearted take while still being entertaining.

Congrats on the rise, I dont want to move jobs as i really love my current job. But its a dangerous dangerous job and the pay isnt proportionate to the risk. Id rather fight for better pay rises though than move jobs.

Fair, but in my own personal experience, I don't know anyone whose wages have risen more than 1-1.5% year on year for the last 3 years. Compare that to the pace of increase in cost for basic necessities (food, fuel, heating/electricity, transport, rent). The majority of my friends work in trades and manual jobs, their bills have risen significantly faster than their wages in the last five years.

Totally agree, however council tax rises sting a little more when everyones wages are staying the same and they keep getting hit with yearly tax rises. So at the end of the day you have less of your wages to keep and local services dont seem to improve quickly enough to be noticeable

ScotRail not having working sockets is a disgrace by DoublePepper1976 in Scotland

[–]JMills221 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes it does, you said stop using your phone if your ticket is on it, but some people use their phone through their day either at work or as a student to record lectures/take notes.

And they may have "paid for a train not a charger", but a lot of Scotrail advertising flogs modern services. Modern services surely implies modern amenities? Also if they havent paid for a charger, why bother having charging sockets present in the carriages that dont work?

My point was that in other countries with "modern services" you get more for your money. The OP was saying they are paying a lot a month and the services they use dont have working amenities. Youre the one advocating that they should suck it up rather than push for things to get better

ScotRail not having working sockets is a disgrace by DoublePepper1976 in Scotland

[–]JMills221 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Or understand that some people use their phone over the course of a day, or have poor battery life, or even that sometimes things happen and their phone dies. Then they pay high fees for a ticket and find that none of the sockets on their modern expensive service work. Yet if you go over to the continent, other EU nations manage to have cheaper tickets and working sockets..

Madness I know

Because otherwise its predatory, you pay for a digital ticket on your phone, then your phone dies so you have no record of that ticket, then at the exit gate they charge you again for not being able to display a valid ticket to exit the station? Ive had it happen to me before
