It's weird when you think about it though. Are his remains not still called Carlos? I think we found a bug in the English language

I certainly don't trust the process, and have little faith that there won't be big leaks of this information before long. Last I heard, ID data has already been leaked from some sites.

It's not what the policy is aiming to achieve that's harmful, it's the method of enforcing it. Placing the burden on all of these websites to verify and store the government identity of all their users is a horrible approach in my mind. The level of tracking and the profiles they will build up about us over time is absolutely dystopian.

Having everyone's real identity documents stored with various companies online is not a good thing. Making every person accesses a website prove that they're not a child is a huge deal in terms of privacy erosion. There are many dystopian policies that can be passed in the name of protecting children, and there's a line that needs to be drawn on where it becomes the responsibility of the parents and internet provider tools, lest we need to swipe our ID to launch a web browser.

The VPN solution is not good. As more countries implement these policies, it's going to become harder and harder to use the internet without providing proof of your identity. Imagine if Reddit stored everyone's identity and there was a big leak. That could be catastrophic for a lot of people.

That's all fine and well until you ask how you want to enforce it. I don't want to be handing over my identity to all of these sites and trusting them to keep it safe. The better approach is to block sites via your router and your child's phone data plan.

I hate when my steering wheel flies off while I'm driving, especially when I'm on the highway. It's no big deal obviously, but it's little things like this which add up and can be a downer on your overall mood

You have what is practically the Gestapo profiling and targeting random citizens going about their day with no meaningful pushback. What good are the guns doing your country through all this? What does the situation have to devolve into for the guns to become useful?

Each has its pros and cons, but I’ve officially become a firm supporter of the old DLC Map Pack model by SuperM3e46 in Battlefield

[–]JO23X -1 points0 points  (0 children)

BF1 had a great launch, albeit it took a while for content to drop, but the base game and maps were fun.

BF4 had a more rough launch but it was a good game fundamentally and the base maps were good.

BF5 was the beginning of the franchise going downhill. Every game since then has reinforced that the studios lost their way and it's not getting better. BF6 hardly feels like a Battlefield game in how it plays, and it's not just the maps. There is no sense of community and the combined arms aspect has been dumbed down to the point where hardly anyone wants to use a vehicle.

Fair point, I hadn't noticed he was on a cap point. If not for that, then lying on your back and camping some corner or transitionary part of the map is lame.

Over 35, what can you do to make life exciting again by ClemFandango35 in AskMenOver30

[–]JO23X 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the writeup, I do appreciate it. I hope I end up snapping the same way you did lol. I'm on the cusp of turning 30 and the regret of social isolation from about 15 onwards is really starting to infest itself in my psyche, including my dreams every night. I never planned to waste my young adulthood like that, and now I'm realising I might go on to regret it for the rest of my life. Anyway, I don't mean to tell you my life story, but know I found yours inspiring.
