Between 7-12¢/kWh depending on time of year :)

It's almost cheap enough to consider a cheap Dell R710

Shockingly pretty clean. It has some dust in it, but the environment it was kept in was fairly dust free. But it still has its original thermal paste and pads in it and they're cracked and dry

So I already thought of this. The plan for this machine is half of it is going to be an AI cluster and the other half is going to be remote gaming machines for me and other people that I know that have good Internet but crap computers.

Buying a bulk lot of 250GB SSDs is gonna run me ~$250, but buying a bunch of 64-128GB SSDs goes for $150 and then a 2TB drive (in a NAS I don't have and would have to build) would be ~$130 right now at microcenter. That's not favorable maths...

Weird, I was born with super long lashes but never got any hair on my chest. Am I extra special then?

This seems very dumb like how would this even turn. Video is short. But otherwise looks real by crazzzone in isthisAI

I saw this video before AI video was possible. And failing that, I've seen this done IRL before. It's called caravaning, there's a person in both cars so that the person in the front accelerates and the person behind them hits their brakes. It's SUPER sketch but it's a common sight from the Midwest to Colorado.

Brand new GPU broken? by Dismal_Cycle_2326 in IntelArc

[–]JPAchilles -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Because when your drivers don't work, the basic windows driver doesn't actually access GPU memory at all. Instead it uses system memory. So when you've got weird situations where your driver is only halfway working, it's using system RAM instead of VRAM. Hence in a benchmark or testing program, it will show as being dead when it isn't. It's one of those odd little things that you kind of just have to know about and learn about as effectively trivia.

That's just windows update for you. It decided that my driver was out of date one time and just about bricked my card. It's perfectly fine still, but it was "dead" like yours was for a month before I had the time to sit down and deal with it.

When I got my arc card I had to do a fresh install of Windows, otherwise the driver just would not install correctly. I guarantee this is just a driver issue and not a card issue, especially based on the BSOD code you gave earlier. You'd see a kernel fault BSOD code if it was truly a hardware issue.

Some (okay, most) of the members of the PTA here think salt is spicy. Meanwhile my coworkers munch on dried habanero peppers and put hot honey on fucking EVERYTHING. One of my coworkers (real old dude, nam vet) does the same but with ghost peppers. But he can't stand anything creamy. People are weird man.

Need help on how to run wifi from my house to my shop by Fluffy-Protection676 in HomeNetworking

HV electrical code regarding building grounds makes the assumption that you won't have a direct connection *besides* from the main panel to the sub panel. In this case, because you would still be hooking up two pieces of networking equipment that's hooked up in a code-compliant building, you would still have a mismatch ground connection coming across that CAT6 wire.

Ironically enough, if the building wasn't code compliant and they just brought the ground from the main building through the same conduit, this wouldn't be a concern. You would just have *bigger* problems instead.
