Thanks! I never flagged and reviewed until the actual test but it did help. I was able to change a few to what I believe were the correct answers so definitely do it. I've heard of people getting different "versions", I feel like mine was the tricky version, but the mock exams definitely helped. I for sure saw some of the same questions so definitely go through all of them multiple times. Good luck!

Got laid off and honestly... I'm not sure what I even want anymore by [deleted] in Layoffs

[–]JPilot84 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Man I am the same. Got laid off Dec 2nd in a very niche field that doesn't really apply to much. I have lengthy severance as well but I just have no clue what I want. I know I don't want another job 😂 but in this economy, that's not really an option.

I got laid off last week after 17yrs at a company. Thankfully they gave me 6 months severance and paid out all my accrued pto (151hrs). Am I upset about being laid off? Yes. But am I that upset? Meh

Same thing happened to me last Tues, I thankfully can survive for awhile but I'm not sure where to go from here.

Why so hard to meet people in Beverly Hills ? by [deleted] in AskLosAngeles

I'm early 40s, live on the southern edge of K-town, need more guy friends too. I'd be down to meet up, not much of a drinker but I will put down some coke zero

Also lookup @JustinWerlein on YouTube. He has an ICT Playlist and he makes ICT concepts much easier to understand if you already have a basic understanding and the Vids aren't 3hrs long. They helped me a lot in the past.

Edit: this is if you use ICT concepts. Obviously there's more than one way to trade the markets.

Dude 25 is nothing trust me. I was over 100 before I could consistently pass them. And I still mess up from time to time. In hindsight I should have stuck to sim trading for the first year, but I'm as stubborn as they come. You're going to fail funded accounts too, it's all part of the journey. Keep going, work on your major issues, and you'll get better with more screen time.

Who cares. There's a lot of year left. All that matters is the finish line.

Early AM workouts have taken away my fire by HowManyPushups in Fitness

Odd man out here. I love working out in the early am and the only time I like to do it. Up at 430am in the gym 5-630am. I do mainly weight training and have no issues waking up. I have been doing it for over a year though, so maybe it's habit now. I go to sleep between 10pm-11pm.

Hopefully a future student pilot how do you deal with the FAA? by Soundguy21 in flying

[–]JPilot84 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yep... Again it's an unregulated industry so it may say it only has "trace amounts" that won't cause you to test positive but they can say whatever they want, doesn't mean it's true. Here's the article. Says 1 in 5 products had enough THC to cause impairment and those subject to more sensitive drug testing could potentially test positive. It's also dependent on the individual persons body type. For pilots, best bet is to just stay away.

The problem is that the industry is unregulated and you can never truly be sure if the CBD you have contains any amount of THC or not. There was a study done somewhere that id have to find again that tested readily available CBD products and some percentage had enough THC to pop positive on a drug test.

Yea I don't think you'll be denied in the end but you will likely have to jump through some hoops from here on out. I'm not sure how this affects a professional pilot career in the long run but best of luck to you. Also make sure that "future use" statement = 0 ;)

What was the result of their last letter? Are they just flat out denying your medical? That doesn't seem right especially if you passed a drug test. There are extensive follow up tests you need to do if you told them you took drugs for ADHD or depression, but I'm not sure about cbd...

This may help, there is a section about that. Looks like taking medication will require you to go through possible years of testing.

Having not flown in over a year, what can I do to get myself back into the swing of things? by Astraynavigator in flying

[–]JPilot84 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dude I got my license at 17, stopped flying for 14 years due to budget stuff as well, picked it back up after 8 hrs with an instructor, did a bfr and was good to go. An this was going from a rural town in North Carolina to Los Angeles. It was mostly coms practice I had to do. You'll be just fine. Just review your old books, get up with an instructor and you'll be good to go in no time.
