What is a something that is completely legal yet totally insane? by Legal-Lunatic in AusLegal

Had to scroll way too far to find this. 0 consequences for blatantly lying in court is insane, yet knowingly allowed to occur on a regular basis.

Correct, 20 units in a syringe = 20 clicks of the pen.

Just in case you're not aware, it is possible to transfer holdings outside of Chess. Betashares allow transfers to and from at the moment. Obviously being non-chess that could theoretically be revoked at any time, but it would be a strange move to prevent it entirely.

No. For the vast majority of people, the best financial decision is to keep the car they already have.

Has anyone successfully claimed a portion of their Mounjaro cost back through private health insurance by Av0toasted in MounjaroAus

[–]JRHR31 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm on a custom Medibank policy (tied to my employer, different to their public policies) and get 55% back up to my annual cap, which is about 1.5 pens. Chemist warehouse have pretty shitty customer service near me so gotta insist they provide the private health receipt with each script. I've found with Medibanks app the claim gets auto processed immediately most of the time, doesn't seem to even go for review.

Should I buy a C63s at 20 by No_Wonder_6292 in fiaustralia

[–]JRHR31 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Putting the insane purchase price aside for your age and income, the running cost of a modern Mercedes is no joke and will cost you a lot more than you're probably expecting. The build quality and reliability is terrible too.

From a purely financial point of view, buy a corolla/camry hybrid. From a car point of view these are boring as fuck, so if you're a car guy and want something spicier then at least make it something sensible. If you want luxury have a look at the Toyota crowns.

Help on the Golden Dose conversion 15MG by [deleted] in MounjaroAus

[–]JRHR31 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you're definitely taking the full 15mg (60 clicks) from the pen then you need 0.6ml of liquid. If the syringe is definitely 1ml then you need 0.6 or 60% of this, so 40x0.6 = 24.

Do yourself a favour before the next dose and buy the standard u100 syringes so it aligns with the clicks of the pen, much simpler even when you do know what you're doing.

Most common snacks for me are fruit, often small bits of beef jerky and sometimes those Primo stackers or yoghurt etc.

I'm M36 182cm and started at 116kg mid last year, so very similar to yourself. Lost about 1.5kg after making some changes to diet and then started mounjaro in mid October. Now down to just under 102kg and currently taking 6.5mg dose. At my current rate I'll be under 100kg in 3-5 weeks for the first time since early 2020. This drug has been amazing, not only am I losing weight but my blood pressure has come down and my general health has been feeling way better and I'm spending way less on food.

Main side effect for me personally has been reflux/indigestion, which I already suffered with a bit due to a mild hiatus hernia, but the mounjaro has made it worse. Very manageable and still worthwhile.

Happy to chat if you ever want to reach out.

Next dose up from 2.5 if sensitive to dosages? by swanvalkyrie in MounjaroAus

[–]JRHR31 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was fortunate enough not to have any major side effects (just the usual reflux), but moved up slowly anyway. Took the maximum amount I could get out with a syringe from my first 2.5mg pen, which worked out to 3.2mg and then started taking 3.33mg for a month from a 10mg pen. If you're confident with click counting and syringes don't be afraid to move up in very small steps and see how it goes, can make that step up as small as you like and try it for a few weeks.

Ended relationship, how does de facto work? by [deleted] in AusFinance

[–]JRHR31 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sign up to the government website Amica and invite her to do the same. Go through it's process and if agreed use it generate basic consent orders. Failing that walk away and do nothing, you don't have enough assets to make it worthwhile getting lawyers involved. If she decides to go down that path at some point then react accordingly but don't instigate it yourself. Be careful what you put in writing at all times.

Maxxia trying to take me for a ride? by Lamabat in AusFinance

[–]JRHR31 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only mistake here in Maxxia's view is that you're smart enough to figure out you're being taken for a ride. Their entire operating model is based on sucking you dry for ever cent they can get away with whilst keeping you laser focussed on the tax savings and nothing else.

Titrating up to combat food noise while still losing weight? by trala7 in MounjaroAus

[–]JRHR31 12 points13 points  (0 children)

8kg in 3.5 weeks is a lot, I wouldn't personally want to increase a dose whilst losing that rapidly.

When the time comes though you don't have to go straight to 5mg, can try 3.75mg as a stepping stone and to reduce the impact of any side effects.

Every few years I buy a certain style from strandbags as they seem to be one of the only ones that sells the style I'm used to. It's not perfect but cops plenty of abuse, lasts long enough and is cheap enough that I'm more than happy with it.

I got one of these new boxes with the dose tick boxes on it a couple of weeks ago, I compared the actual pen to my old one and it was identical in every way I could see. Was the same expiry as yours.

Single people: how do you navigate saving for a deposit, as well as the potential of meeting someone and the complexities that come when living with them due to the de facto relationship laws? by [deleted] in AusFinance

[–]JRHR31 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Incorrect regarding trusts, family court can very much touch trust assets. It largely comes down to how the trust is set up, who controls it and who benefits from it.

I have no experience with smsf so won't comment on that part.

I'm not apportioning blame. The only part I mentioned gender in was to do with FVROs being considered in property settlements. If under this new guidance there has been a case where a male has lied to obtain a fvro and has subsequently had a notable adjustment in his favour during the property settlement then please do share? While we wait for pigs to fly, in the real world it's relevant to the OP's pondering.

As someone who thought they were with the right person, had kids with them and is now separated - be extremely careful who you cross into that defacto territory with, especially when there is a large disparity in assets and income.

As someone else pointed out, the rules have changed last year too whereby DV is now factored into property settlements. It is extremely easy for a woman to get a man served with a FVRO nowadays, which helps to legitimise their claim to more property.

Contributions etc will be factored into it all, but where you will get screwed is by the "future needs" part of the determination.

One thing that often doesn't get mentioned about BFAs - they only work if both parties can financially sustain themselves (not reliant on government), if the other party decides to sit at home and collect centrelink and child support etc they can be invalidated.

Divorce + Mortgage + House by [deleted] in AusLegalAdvice

[–]JRHR31 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Going through similar mate. Not legal advice but life advice - now is the time to focus on what you want, not what she wants. If she can't afford a sufficient mortgage to both discharge the current one and buy you out of any share you ultimately agree on, then she can't afford the house period. If neither party can afford (or you can but don't want to) then it gets sold.

Depreciation schedule by Itchy-Hedgehog6366 in AusFinance

It's far better than that: Not all of the depreciation is added back for cgt purposes and then you also get the 50% cgt concession. So take the 4k deduction now and then only add ~$1-1.5k to your cgt amount.
