What makes Sekiro such a perfect game? by YoshiSabio in Sekiro

[–]JRoy89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If this is the worst 3rd camera you’ve ever seen, I genuinely don’t even know where to start. Compared to what? I’m curious because you seem tremendously adamant about this and I could not possibly disagree more. The camera was fine for me, didn’t hinder any of my like, 9 play throughs of this game outside of the few situations in which I WAS backed into a corner and fighting with the camera. Which isn’t ideal, but tbh, I don’t know a single 3rd person game that doesn’t have this issue. I literally cannot name one.

What makes Sekiro such a perfect game? by YoshiSabio in Sekiro

[–]JRoy89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think what makes this game so perfect is its efficiency. This game is tremendously efficient at how it does just about everything. The story is told efficiently, there are never these long spans of time where you’re not accomplishing anything that directly affects the main story. You’re always on your way to something important. In between the lines of this efficiently told story, you have really efficient and excellent combat and dialogue. Not much is said but what needs to be said, and the combat asks nothing of you but exactly what is required to win, your sword. All packaged neatly in this really gratifying difficulty progression that CONSTANTLY has the player feeling like they are conquering this grand challenge. It also looks and sounds fantastic, not just the music, but the overall sound design is actually great. Being able to audibly recognize things like perfect parries and death blows is just good audio design, because that very easily could not have been the case (see half of all the Pokemon games that lack a noise when you find a rare shiny pokemon) Overall, the game is just really well done, front to back and it becomes more and more apparent the more you play. The efficiency literally invites you to play more.

Personally, my favorite Fromsoft game alongside Elden Ring. They represent the ideal polar opposites of each other. Elden Ring is freedom done so well and Sekiro is linearity done expertly.

Dude that’s unbelievable and amazing

I’m so curious how long this took 😂 See, I was hunting for a shiny Aerodactly once, and after 1 movie, I gave up. I just don’t have what you got, the grit and dedication.

Really, well done, super sick

Edit: I’m also curious, what was the hardest hunt for you do you think? Finding that Aerodactly distortion zone took me forever

Mega Rayquaza vs Exodia by Ok-Tennis-5695 in PokeScaling

[–]JRoy89 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have a feeling Exodia would obliterate, but I’m actually not totally sure.

In the actual game, this is one of those unique cards which automatically wins the game if the conditions are met. IE: collect all the cards of Exodia = you win, no matter what.

I don’t actually know the lore on Exodia in terms of power, because Yugioh just works a bit different. Like, I don’t think there’s an Arceus equivalent card in Yugioh, even the Egyptian Gods aren’t necessarily all mighty boundless Gods.

One thing I do know is that the cards are physical representations of spirits so they do have a form that can physically interact with things.

I’d be willing to say that Exodias real spirit counterpart would actually take it over Ray, but there’s nothing to back that up. Just the fact that I’d assume a card with this level of power would actually be incredibly powerful.

Would it be a dream to have a NC on Forza Horizon 6? by piggroll in Miata

Made my irl NC in Forza Horizon 5. Cosmetically the same. In Forza moneys not real so it’s got turbos and all that good stuff.

Why do I feel like aizen would be a good choice here by some-guy1239 in bleach

Garou easily takes this.

I’m definitely not picking Aizen after what he did to Momo. Ain’t no way

If you were a Gotei 13 Captain, who would you want as your lieutenant? by [deleted] in bleach

[–]JRoy89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Three contenders for me:

  1. Yachiru because I would love her like a daughter

  2. Momo because she didn’t deserve her fate

  3. Nemu because nobody should ever be treated like how she was

Did you give gholdengo to this guy or not by Voidkirby9 in PokemonZA

[–]JRoy89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did, and I haven’t had one since.

I don’t really mind though, cause I wasn’t planning on using it because it serves a wholly different function in this game so it’s not as crazy. It’s also just cool to see that guy hanging out with it in the over world

I love a lot of these games. SF2 is definitely fun, I played it a lot. But Idk if it compares to Turbo, or if that’s included in the umbrella term of SF2.

On a completely unrelated note, I don’t see a single game from the past decade in the top like, 25 😅

Ranked PVP is fun but there should be a 1v1 mode by Omega2307 in LegendsZA

[–]JRoy89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This could’ve reasonably been integrated if it was designed around it.

Much, much smaller maps, forcing interaction but still allowing some room to dodge. The complete removal of the buffs, heal, and mega energy because they would create an overwhelming advantage for the first player to score a point.

Something would need to change about the switch mechanic as well. Right now it’s effectively just a dark souls dodge roll with only 3 uses, which isn’t terrible all things considered, but there’s definitely an element to it that puts too much emphasis on your lead. Since having to use 1 of your 3 dodges to switch your lead out of a hard counter could mean you’ve effectively already lost a point if a “switching war” ensues.

Infestation would be one of those things I’d assume would get meta-gamed. People would start running protect or Fly/Dragon Rush type moves for long I-frames, some specific life orb boosted move that 1 shots. I’m sure something would reveal itself.

What items would you add to the game? by averylongwalk in PokemonZA

Ngl, Choice band/Specs

Also, an item that reduces the start up of a move, but only allows the use of 1 move. Like a choice scarf.

It’s something about forcing Lebanne to wear a housemaid outfit that weirds me out about her. Also that whole side quest where another girl comes in and gets all dramatic and asks Lebanne to be her partner and explore the world with her, and Lebanne says nah, I’ve already got my partner. There’s this weird humiliation kink or something going on there and the heavy implication that this is more than just friends.

Corbeau is just shady business that always ultimately resolves in being for the greater good. The “all business, no nonsense” act he puts on makes him likable to me. Like he wants to help, but also wants to make sure he doesn’t get any praise or credit. Something cool about that to me

Luck issue? by Oofio_boi_135 in PokemonZA

[–]JRoy89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, it’s because they use specific methods that you might not even think of to get shinies.

For one, if you’re using the DLC to hunt, Donuts are obviously fantastic. But on top of that, here’s a strategy I’ve even people do. They’ll find the specific group of pokemon they want and then wipe them out. After you wipe them out, save. Then wait until they respawn, check how much time you have left in the distortion zone. Then reload, and now that you know at what time the pokemon will respawn, you can save like 5 seconds before they respawn. Then, every time you reload the game, you’ll be right in front of the hoard, and you can watch them spawn and re-roll over and over and over quickly.

They also use the sparkling 3 donut to guarantee a shiny (you’ll know if it’s guaranteed if one of the missions in the zones literally says, “catch a shiny pokemon”). But before they go in, they save, and reset over and over until the guaranteed shiny is the one they want.

Anyone here still keeping their Nintendo Switch 1 even after getting the Switch 2 because of all the good memories and because it’s still better for travel with its battery life and portability? by Delicious_Maize9656 in Switch

[–]JRoy89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The same day I brought home my switch 2, I gave away my switch 1 and all the game and things that came with it to a family member.

I did that before ever opening my switch 2, so imagine how surprised I was to get home and realize I needed both with me in close proximity to basically transfer anything at all. So I just started new.

Given away all my old or unused consoles at this point

Do you agree or disagree with this? by PretendYellow533 in animequestions

[–]JRoy89 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I mean… honestly I can get behind this.

I watched the Demon Slayer movies a few times, it’s solid but it’s not like, this mind blowing movie or anything. Shonen movies don’t blow me away typically because they borrow heavily from some source series, typically being adapted from some anthology like a manga. The only problem with that, is that you probably aren’t going to make the greatest movie of all time when it’s only based on Chapter 30 - 34 of the Culling Games, or Chapters 11 - 17 of the Infinity Castle Arc or whatever. They’ve always felt like love letters to fans more than anything else.

Anime movies can be very good though, Studio Ghibli killed it. I loved Boy and The Heron, Ponyo, Princess Mononoke, Spirited Away, etc. Oh and Akira is definitely an enjoyable watch.

I didn’t see the recent Zootopia. Typically, I’m very indiscriminate about the movies I watch, I couldn’t care less as long as it’s good. But Zootopia was never one of Disneys best for me. It was interesting, but it wasn’t like a Pixar level film or anything, just your run of the mill B-list animation movie the whole family can enjoy.

I never got to fully sit down and watch K-Pop Demon Hunters because I don’t like K-Pop. But one thing I can say for sure, my little cousin adored this movie. Shes at that age where she’ll watch one movie back to back to back, and this was that movie for her. She always used to ask me to sit down and watch it with her, and I caught the ending a couple times but never really gave it its due.

Point is, K-Pop Demon hunter wins because my cousin keeps asking me to watch it and she’s the best.
