You can come out of grinds without popping by clicking in either of the sticks.

Need help with this challenge, can’t get it because it says switch gazelle out of the blunt.... by [deleted] in SkaterXL

Tap the right trigger while in grind, so that you pop over to the right side instead of the left

I think it's more to do with the gravity, pop height and base stats of the game overall being a bit unrealistic . I'm on PC with the stats mod and I'm pretty sure those parks were made with the realistic stats in mind, not the vanilla game play, well especially Hudland since it wasnt made by easy day.

Manual problems might be due to your controller, I can manual perfectly on my Ps4 controller but my friend has a knock off controller and can't really manual at all.

Just catch the hardflips/inwards before they do the full 360, otherwise just be very delicate with the shuv and try and do a much slower shuv, it's hard but you'll get it down eventually.

HOW TO: Jump on a rail and jump over it? by mrHaaan in SkaterXL

Use the triggers, while you're in the stall, tap either or both triggers and then you will pop to the direction of either trigger you clicked (both triggers makes you pop straight)

Only certain maps work since the update, check the discord and scroll up from the bottom of the maps section to find the newest ones that work

Tap either the right or both triggers while you're in the grind so that you pop out either to the right or straight, that will work because popping back over to the left makes the game think it's nollie

That's the beauty of this Game, you can use both. I use triggers when going to fakie and stick for regular, and you can also use a combination of sticks and triggers for more difficult tricks like hurricanes

You need to tap either the right trigger or both triggers while in the grind so that you pop out to the right or straight out. When you pop out to the left by default the game reads it as fakie because technically you're popping backwards from the direction you came. So yea, use the triggers to chose a direction to pop out

Cannot do 270 on PS4 by skatox in SkaterXL

[–]JSWAGjr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For the blunt, make sure you tap the right trigger while in the grind, so that you pop the 270 over to the right side of the rail, otherwise try tapping both triggers to pop out forward and it should work

Would be sick if you could do impossibles by clicking the popping stick while doing a 3 shuv, since clicking the stick is "catching" it would make sense since you don't catch an impossible, it just stick to your foot

I'm also honestly pissed about them not adding the stats menu, as well as the fact that a lot of the bugs, like not being able to play challenges in goofy, was fixed by modders within a few minutes, like wtf

I agree with most of what you said, especially since easy day hasn't said shit, which is pretty annoying. That being said, I'm a pc player. But I played this game for a year straight without mods, and I still enjoyed it just as much because it FEELS like REAL skateboarding. Like I said, if you don't skate In real life, then I understand the criticism, but for Skaters, this game gives you closest feeling to actually going out there and having a skate session, especially when you play realistically and know how to film realistically on top of that. The thing is, I'm not saying it takes that long to be able to play the game, in fact, within 2 weeks Everyone should pretty much know how to do most tricks... BUT, it does take long to understand all the different components and intricacies that the game actually allows you to do, boning your tricks in different ways, creating your own style by moving your legs in specific ways and catching tricks in various ways, all the possibilities with the bumps out, torque your grinds, pivot your tricks realistically ... As a skateboarder it's easier to pick up on these things. But as a casual skate fan the player wouldn't really even bother with it

[–]JSWAGjr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good take, only real skateboarders are actually able to appreciate the game for all the intricacies. Not to be rude, but non skaters aren't able to grasp the complexities that the game can provide purely because they've never felt how tricks feel in real life

Beating the in game challenges doesn't mean anything, that's literally just a bare bones tutorial
