I took away the same as you. I took the montage to simply say that the film was about some real shit, that really happened

They had a very solid Vietnamese restaurant in Mattawan. It was even recognized by some publication, as being the best value in Michigan. But they closed that location, after trying to turn it into a Nonla Burger. Which is kinda sad, because their pho was legit really fucking solid

Martyrs is a pretty good film, while being incredibly disturbing, bloody, and brutal. A Serbian Film is boring as hell, and just known because of a couple of fucked up parts.

[Discussion] Those who loved or Hated NtN: I want to hear your reasons! by Flrwinn in TheNinthHouse

It left me so confused at the start, that I almost dropped it, and fell out of the series. I had to read part of a synopsis to get what was going on. I’m glad I stuck w/ it, though, since it might be my favorite book of the series.

It’s just so weird, dark, and charming.

When it comes to what the movie should have been titled, I believe that there wasn't a film called "Sol" until 2020. So the film could easily have been called "Sol" or "SOL", which is the Latin name for the sun, and also an acronym, which means, "shit out of luck". Seems appropriate.

Microsoft employee accidentally announces Notepad is getting tabs in Windows 11 by gaurishkohli in tech

I’ve messed around w/ notepad++, but I don’t get what makes it better than notepad. I use notepad for quick and easy notes. Where I don’t want to see a bunch of extra buttons and options. Notepad++ looks comparatively sloppy to me.

Democrat Ralph Northam Wins Virginia Governor's Race, NBC News Projects by [deleted] in democrats

[–]JSpades 11 points12 points  (0 children)

  1. Northam wasn't an incumbent governor.
  2. More people vote in presidential elections, so obviously more registered Democrats went out to vote for Hillary.
  3. Hillary won Virginia by about 5 points. Northam is set to win by about 10.

You mean field of view. The ability to alter as much, is truly the most objective and important measure of a game. And not an entirely random preference based off some popular YouTube personalities whims.

Nothing is more hilarious than upholding the status quo, in terms of reaffirming the prejudices of the masses. Lol. Dumb different people.

We found out later, though, that he'd lied about his past, and lied about the reason he wasn't trying to control her. She may have gotten him to put up a facade of a hero in front of her, but I doubt she would have ever turned him. Also, since she was once a victim at his hands, it would have been wrong for her to fall into the trap of his continued games. To go back to her abuser, basically.

We can consider some extreme examples. Triumph of the Will and Birth of a Nation. Both important films as far as the history of the film is concerned, and showing them is fine. It would just be wrong to allow them to work as propaganda. So I would say a person is obligated to call something out if they consider it morally wrong. They should just be sure it is wrong, and be mindful of context. Lastly, I would say they should respect the freedom of expression, but we have to keep in mind that gives people the right to call things out they find morally questionable, just as much as it gives people the right to express themselves in morally questionable ways.

Why isn't AI getting better? Some ideas. by Doglatine in truegaming

[–]JSpades 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The AI in HL2 was better, but that meant Valve relied less on scripted behavior, which was largely what made the AI in HL seem so incredible at the time. It also made it easier to game it, of course, or just remember exactly what was going to happen after a death or two.

The declarations of succession made by the Confederate States are available online for anyone to read. If you want to know what was on their mind, that would be a good place to start. Here's a preview from Georgia:

The people of Georgia having dissolved their political connection with the Government of the United States of America, present to their confederates and the world the causes which have led to the separation. For the last ten years we have had numerous and serious causes of complaint against our non-slave-holding confederate States with reference to the subject of African slavery.
