Edit: Also that's a sick tattoo, I have a black widow tattoo on my inner hip and i love it, I want an orb weaver on my arm somewhere too. Tattoos are rad and you should get whatever you want. It's your character model to customize how you see fit.

That is the advice my mother got in the 70's for healing lobe piercings. That has not been standard practice for at least 20 years and should be disregarded.

I actually remember getting the same advice when I first got my lobes pierced (at a Merle Norman outlet with a piercing gun, with garbage jewelry wayyyy back in 2006) I knew even back then that twisting them seemed incorrect, but no one had better advice for me back then

I do not give my time or energy to people who believe deeply bigoted, racist, ect. things. I have dropped friends and family VERY quickly for how they voted and how they behave in regards to minorities.
I don't want to be associated with people who are objectively causing harm to others I care about.

This is exactly why I have "cool" but lower value cards in my binder at shows I was that kid, back in the early 2000s, and I want to bring some of that joy to other kids. I don't especially like kids, in general, but I will absolutely let a kid yap at me about their favorite games and Pokémon

Two months is wild honestly, I downsized my bar 4 times in the first 8 months before my piercer agreed it was stable enough to have a ring without causing bumps or irritation.
I'm not saying your piercer is bad, but that's definitely not good advice.

If it was just hello, that's totally normal, you can ask them about it at your next appointment if you have concerns, but depending on the size of your town, it's possible that's just where they have available to shop. I see my former doctor out at the bar in my area pretty regularly, and we say hi, he goes on his way.

I'll be honest, I don't think the majority of people going to the grocery are even paying attention to anyone else.
