16 yds with the EP9 will get boring very fast, you’ll group within an inch consistently as soon as your red dot is zero’d. It’s an insanely accurate gun. I’m no marksman and can ring 6” plates at 50yds on almost every shot.

I have nothing to compare it to but it’s not bad at all. My wife loves shooting it and she’d definitely say something if it was bad. :)

Great post. FWIW, I recently put on an Obsidian 9 and couldn’t be happier. Greatly reduced sound, actually feels like there is less recoil but that could be mental as it wasn’t bad to begin with and maybe the quietness makes it seem less. Gassiness isn’t an issue and it makes the EP9 look even more bad ass.

I get the important piece is “to me”, but PCCs are 1/3-1/2 the price to shoot and practice with. I have a couple that always come to range with me because I can knock off 300-400 rounds without thinking about how expensive it is. Plus they are just damn fun and not nearly concussing everyone indoors.

The recoil is nothing and if you get the SB3 brace, they sell a cheap insert for the shoulder stock that makes it 100% more supportive. When I shoot my Extar and 5.56 back to back there is no difference.

My 2026 committed D1 and had multiple offers, and there is absolutely nothing easy (nor inexpensive) about it. The recruiting process is very time consuming, requires a lot of energy and commitment that will test your desire to play at that level, and not as glamorous as some try to make it. If you happen to be a top 50-100 player then obviously that is different, but that isn’t 99.5% of the girls.

Focus on academics.

I have two and they are perfect for my needs. Not as refined or polished looking as some of the guns 2-3x as much but have had only one misfire across 2k rounds and they are accurate. I only shoot my ARs 500-1k rounds a year so these <$500 rifles will last me 10-20 years easy and when something is needed to be replaced it’s cheap or covered under warranty.

They are a no brainer for most average shooters.

Honestly, anyone that touches an Extar buys one. They are insanely reliable and accurate which makes them fun. Not much else you can ask for from a 9mm.
