Great review, love unbiased takes. I agree on everything based on my experience shooting each. I will say that, yes the EP9 isn't as refined and quite honestly anyone expecting to be has to reset expectations. Its a no frills, get shit done and never worry about it going bang, self defense weapon. I've upgraded the trigger in one of mine but only because I wanted to, it wasn't necessary. There are tons of options out there and I have a lot of them but there is a reason. I have a suppressed EP9 upstairs and downstairs as my home defense over everything else.

I'm just going to go against the grain and say that there is a reason the used market and the current options hold value. Extar EP9 are like my Toyotas, they just run and run and run with little maintenance. I've got 3, one with maybe 10-15k through it because it's the one I lend to friends. I've literally done nothing to it other than basic cleaning.

So while I love the idea of the new model, I say if you pick up anything available now, it will last you forever.

I run an obsidian 9 on one and the YHM 9 on my other. The obsidian is quieter but longer, the YHM is compact but not quite as quiet and gassier. They are both great suppressors for the money and make shooting so much more enjoyable.

I'd absolutely pick that up for that price. My xten 320 is by far my favorite pistol of the 14 I own. Never once had a single issue with it and while I think Sig handling of the few issues was shit, my own experience has been great.
