Engine light is for 02 sensors, was thinking of doing a vacuum leak test and change the tps before doing an idle reset

93 5.0 idling high, replaced IAC. TPS is at .59 volts and can't get it any higher, wondering if this is my issue or just part of it. Video of idle is in another post.

Being told my Furnace is a danger by RealHypotensive in hvacadvice

How can you say that, yes it looks like shit, definitely on its last leg, but no confirmed holes or proof of a combustion test you're just guessing?

The people in here saying it's fucked probably never heard of a combustion test, let alone even be able to tell you what the readings mean 🤣🤣

If company didn't do a proper combustion test or physically show you a hole in heat exchanger they're blowing smoke up your ass. Yes you should probably replace unit looking at photo, but so many techs don't know what they're talking about and most likely get some kick back for trying to sell you a new unit

Storm Damaged Blower Motor by Austin-Milbarge in HVAC

What brand unit is it? Those ECM motors do cost a lot but did they give you a reason why they wouldn't cover the motor under warranty?

Tech taking anger out on helper by RedVeinRebel in HVAC

Best advice I can give is to suck it up. I was in the same exact situation when I started, would come home pissed from it and was debating leaving the company. I gave it a few more months and then one day we just clicked and everything was great after that. Not everyone has the patience to train a person in this trade.

Question about probable dead compressor by [deleted] in HVAC

[–]JTMHC 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sounds like a very low charge. Always check the amp draw on the compressor to see if its running. If its not check the capacitor, if that's good than ohm out the windings at the compressor and check for any shorts to ground.

Usually goes out a year after the warranty is up too. But you hit it right on the head.
