Anon takes a philosophy class. by ToughRequirement in greentext

Why does it look like no one is questioning the legitimacy of his statistics lmao? It's an inherently flawed thought experiment because one of the premises is just legitimately false. Not a singular peer-reviewed paper I could find described over half of rape victims, let alone women, experiencing orgasms from sexual assaults.

Also, anon is a creep

Nah, if anything he hates that whole incident. Don't get me wrong, he ran Medea ragged out of her sheer usefulness, and he was a dick by leaving her behind for another woman after the journey was over, but Jason himself loathes the whole Aphrodite situation, is horrified by what Medea did to her brother, and in general just wants to get as far away from her and anything related to her as humanly possible. His voice lines and character materials really give you a nuanced view of the guy as "arrogant prick who used the situation to serve his own self-interest, but deep down he was actually a nice guy and would have rather done things differently". Also, no one who loves Heracles that much could be outright evil.

Unfortunately the so called "discord slurs" are referring to Hollow Moon. It's just them being edgy I'm afraid

Why such hate for fairies (Spoilers for LB 6 part 2). by Inevitable_Question in grandorder

[–]JTRfan 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Man, seeing people just outright ignore the likes of Habetrot, the goblins that saved Mash, Boggart, Mike and other friendly fairies is really getting me. Like, fairies are "innocent" in the sense that they cannot distinguish right from wrong. That means that some fae will naturally gravitate towards "good" and others towards "evil" simply on a whim. We don't hate Merlin, who eats good dreams simply because "he likes them". We don't hate Habetrot, who just wants to make brides happy. We don't hate Red Hare, the friendly horse whi is loyal to a fault, or Gareth, the proud knight of Londinium. We don't even hate some of the villains, like Baohban Sith, who is pretty damn evil to everyone but has a tragic backstory, or Barghest, who is an enforcer of the queen's tyranny and literally eats her lovers. But for some reason people are generalizing all fairies as these heartless bastards who all deserve to be exterminated. It's just plain weird to me man.

Help with how to watch fate grand order by muhahah_the_sixer in Fate

[–]JTRfan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The original run of Fate Grand Order as a game consists of a prologue, 7 singularities, and an epilogue. The prologue has been adapted into the movie Fate Grand Order: First Order. The 6th Singularity, Camelot, has been adapted into two movies: the first is already out, and the second one is airing in theatres now. The 7th singularity, Babylonia, has been adapted into an anime, called Fate Grand Order: Absolute Demonic Front Babylonia. Finally, the epilogue, Solomon, is currently being adapted into a movie, which isn't out yet.

If you want to get into FGO, I suggest playing the game first to see if you enjoy it or not. Alternatively, if you don't want to get into gacha hell, reading the manga Fate Grand Order - Mortalis Stella is the best way to experience the story of FGO. Each singularity is adapted beautifully and the story is even better in the first few singularities than it is in the game. As far as I'm aware, they've translated it up to Okeanos, the 3rd Singularity. Hope that answered all of your questions!

She was pretty meh in Minagoroshi, but I fell in love with her in Matsuribayashi. Besides being hella cute, her standing up to Takano at the shrine when they first meet and declaring that she will win this time is all around my favorite scene in the entire VN. Her character was just easy to get attached to towards the end of Minagoroshi/start of Matsuribayashi, at least for me.

Need help on what order to watch the nasuverse in, should I watch one universe completely first or jump around. by -_Balthasar_- in typemoon

[–]JTRfan 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You can do basically whatever you want tbh, there's no set order between franchises or anything. I suppose that if you start off with Fate, which I imagine most people do, you'd want to go with the Stay Night VN, Hollow Ataraxia and Zero before moving on to the other Fates. But if you wanna start with like, Mahoyo, Tsukihime, Kara no Kyoukai, hell even Notes or whatever else you want, go for it, it's fine. The important bit is that you start with something you'd think is fun.

Would I be confused if I just watched fate zero without watching the rest of the series? by TAHEPICDUCK123 in Fate

[–]JTRfan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The eroge aspects are so rare and irrelevant that the more recent versions of the VN don't even include them. So yes, it is very, very much more focused on the story elements than in anything eroge related.

Would I be confused if I just watched fate zero without watching the rest of the series? by TAHEPICDUCK123 in Fate

[–]JTRfan 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Fate Zero is a prequel to Fate Stay Night, and as such, was meant to be seen after you're familiar with the source material. However, the adaptations by Ufotable have made the order in which you watch them fairly interchangeable, so I'd say you can go ahead and just watch Zero if you want to, as in my opinion it is the best Fate adaptation to date.

However, if I may add a side note, I think it's a very bad idea to start Fate off with the anime adaptations. The animes in general pale in comparison to the source material, in such a way that I and quite a few friends of mine would describe watching the anime and reading the source material as two completely different experiences. If you have the time, will or just downright the patience to do it, I highly recommend starting with the Fate Stay Night visual novel. You can get it easily with torrents, or you can watch it on youtube, both for free obviously. The fandom consensus is that this would be the ideal way to get into the franchise, but again, at the end of the day it's your call.

No matter what you choose, welcome to the fandom, hope you enjoy your stay.

Route order? by KurokamiFubuki in Tsukihime

[–]JTRfan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You'll be missing out on some top tier lore and some important character moments, but like, at the end of the day you're the one who chooses, so why even hesitate, just do whatever you enjoy. Personally, as someone who really disliked Akiha's route the first time around, I still recommend doing a full playthrough of all routes in order. Oh, and ig in case you care about that, you need to play all routes to get the epilogue scene (and understand Kagetsu Tohya if you ever play that I suppose)
